As the Director of Enterprise Equity & Inclusion, you will provide operational leadership, direction and oversight to ensure that everyone has an opportunity to thrive. This position facilitates implementation of structure and strategic direction for enterprise-wide diversity and inclusion efforts for all protected classes. JOB DUTIES:
Implement and manage the strategy for public participation in the One Minnesota Council for Inclusion and Equity established by Executive Order 19-01 and 21-13.
Support the implementation for the strategic vision on statewide equity, diversity, and inclusion programs through planning, facilitating, and presenting as applicable.
Provide strategic direction, advice, and consultation to state agency partners to advance integration of diversity, equity, inclusion and racial justice principles and values into state agency culture.
Create partnerships and provide support to the diversity, equity, & inclusion liaisons to create alignment throughout the cabinet agencies.
Represent the Office of Inclusion at agency meetings to increase office visibility and transparency.
Develop and implement an enterprise communication strategy to support and advance communication efforts that address diversity and inclusion, affirmative action, ADA and equal employment opportunity, and respect and sensitivity issues to enhance understanding and compliance.
Support the implementation of the Long-range plan throughout the enterprise.
Minimum Qualifications
Five (5) years of professional level experience in Equity, Diversity & Inclusion, or a related field.
OR
Bachelor’s degree in human resources, Organizational Development, Industrial/Organizational Psychology, Public Policy, or related field and at least three (3) years of professional level experience with Equity, Diversity & Inclusion
Experience must include:
Leadership: Demonstrated skills and experience to successfully lead and manage statewide initiatives in the areas of equity, diversity and inclusion; ability to plan, organize, prioritize, coordinate, and implement program objectives; and proven ability to think strategically and creatively around Equity, Diversity & Inclusion initiatives.
Program Management: Experience analyzing public policy and operational programs to identify institutional barriers.Experience designing, planning and implementing organizational diversity and inclusion change initiatives.
Communications/Human Relations: Superior oral and written skills to successfully interact, engage, and cultivate strong relationships and establish effective partnerships with the Governor’s Office, agency executive leaders, external stakeholders, legislators and staff, community groups and advocacy organizations;ability to influence leaders and decision makers; presentation and communication skills to discuss technical topics to non-technical audiences such as agency managers, legislators and members of the public; and understanding of relationships to drive effective collaboration with peers and stakeholders.
Organizational Skills: Ability to manage several concurrent projects that might involve coordinating the work of multiple state agencies; program and project management skills with a demonstrated ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
Computer Skills :Proficiency in the use of word processing, presentation, and spreadsheet software such as Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience supporting executive and/or senior leadership
Demonstrated strategic thinking and planning skills to achieve optimal productivity and results
Basic understanding Minnesota Building Code and state and federal Accessibility Guidelines, (including electronic areas) and all other relevant state and federal laws, regulations and procedures including the ADA Titles 2 and 3
Basic understanding of the Human Resources system, laws, rules, collective bargaining agreements, and policies and practices
