The North America Payroll Manager is responsible for the oversight and execution of all phases of payroll in the Unites States and Canada which includes accurately processing payroll for over 5,000 employees on a weekly and semi-monthly basis. This position will ensure that payroll is processed timely, accurately and in compliance with government regulations and Company policies. This role also includes designing/improving processes, developing, and executing operating procedures, quantifying, and improving data integrity, and leveraging technologies to drive efficiencies, while ensuring compliance with country and local laws. This role requires the ability to both manage a team and be hands-on to get the work done. As the leader of the Regional payroll team, you will be responsible for processing payroll in the United States and Canada using Workday HRIS, Workday for time and attendance, and other 3rd party inbound and outbound vendors such as ADP for tax filings and garnishments. This is a key leadership position and will report to the Vice President of HR. WHAT YOU WILL EXPERIENCE IN THIS POSITION: Lead all aspects of payroll processing for employees in the US and Canada. This involves accurately processing multi-state payroll for over 5,000 employees on a weekly and semi-monthly basis. Ensure that all payrolls are processed on time, accurately and in compliance with government regulations and Company policies Manage outsourced vendors to ensure compliance with processes, legal requirements and service expectations Lead and develop team members in both the U.S. and Canada Build partnerships across the organization with teams such as Human Resources and Accounting to achieve shared objectives Evaluate and adapt current payroll processes for the growing needs of the organization and create long term strategies for continuous improvement Play a key role in all payroll system upgrades, integrations, and process and efficiency improvements Serve as a liaison between company and local, state, and federal agencies regarding payroll issues, processing of all Quarterly and Annual tax reports and filings and ensure that we maintain Sox compliance. Represent the Payroll function for all Internal and External audit queries. Stay current with industry trends and standard methodologies in Payroll Service, technology, and service delivery Maintain confidentiality and data security standards for all payroll related information. YOU HAVE: Bachelor's degree (business, finance or accounting preferred) 10+ years Payroll experience 3+ years people management experience with proven ability to develop individuals Demonstrated knowledge of concepts, practices and procedures in Payroll processing Comprehensive understanding of Payroll Operations and related accounting Experience working with complex compensation structures Demonstrated ability to drive system and process improvements and lead projects Strong background with and SME working knowledge of payroll regulations, labor and employment tax regulations, and applicable end-to-end activities encompassing payroll Strong end-to-end mindset and understanding for all payroll operations, including the up and down stream impacts to payroll operations and the customer service delivery model Excellent communication skills with the ability to build positive relationships across all levels of the organization Ability to manage multiple priorities and achieve deadlines without sacrificing accuracy or integrity WE HAVE: A dynamic global reach with diverse operations around the world that will stretch your abilities, provide plentiful career opportunities, and allow you to make an impact every day At nVent, we believe safer systems ensure a more secure world.
