Methodist Hospital is looking to hire a Health Unit Coordinator (HUC) to join our Perianesthesia team! Position Summary: The Health Unit Coordinator serves as a resource for unit nursing staff, allied health departments, medical staff, patients, and visitors by assisting with patient care coordination, providing information, giving direction, securing assistance and resources, and troubleshooting. This is done in a manner, which reflects the vision, mission, and philosophy of nursing and Park Nicollet Health Services. The Health Unit Coordinator is expected to provide exceptional customer service. Health Unit Coordinator to work in all areas (Pre-Procedure Assessment, Pre-op, Phase I/PACU, and Phase II/Discharge). Includes coordination with outside providers, documentation management, assisting with patient and department flow, etc. Looking for someone with excellent communication and customer service skills. Breaks are important to our team Lactation room in department Regular team recognition events Workgroups/Interdisciplinary Collaboration Policy & Procedure Monthly educational offerings Monthly HUC team meetings Shared Governance Committee Work Schedule: 0.6 FTE, evening shift (11:30am-8:00pm or 12:00-8:30pm) Saturday and holiday rotation. Up to every other weekend. Preferred Qualifications A High School graduate preferred. Completion of a Health Unit Coordinator program preferred. Previous customer service experience, medical terminology and keyboarding skills is preferred.
