nVent Data Governance Leader in St Louis Park, Minnesota

The Data Governance Leader is a pivotal role that will spearhead nVent’s Data Governance program. This Leader will engage in expanding Master Data Management (MDM) efforts and champion nVent’s data and business glossary. You will engage partners across nVent to classify data for optimal security, crafting guidelines for the secure data handling and define comprehensive training for data users. In this leadership role you will be instrumental in shaping the future of Data Governance at nVent.

In this position, you will:

  • Become immersed into the digital agile development teams to ensure that best practices for Data Governance are built into nVent’s processes and solutions

  • Forge a collaborative alliance with Compliance, Privacy, and Information Security teams, ensuring a unified approach to data management.

  • Build a resilient and comprehensive Data Governance Community of Practice to ensure accuracy and usability of information across the Enterprise

  • Ensure Leadership alignment with the scope and goals of data governance initiatives

  • Empower data owners, stewards, and users through comprehensive training and support, clarifying their roles in data governance, regulatory compliance, and security.

  • Lead the establishment of data quality and master data standards, advocating for consistent adherence to these standards, regulations, and policies.

  • Build protection and privacy into data governance methodologies

  • Strategically prioritize the backlog to align with key initiatives and drive impactful change.

You have:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Analytics, Data Science, Information Technology, Statistics or related field required. Advanced degree preferred.

Previous Experience and Skills:

  • Strong leadership skills with at least 5+ years in a managerial role.

  • Lead the charge in pioneering strategic data initiatives that shape the future.

  • Excel in a collaborative environment, applying your outstanding interpersonal skills to engage with executives, business users, and vendors.

  • The ability to provide thought leadership and communicate technical solutions and concepts in business terms.

  • Guide and inspire teams, offering mentorship and orchestrating meaningful stakeholder sessions.

  • Champion Master Data Management efforts, setting the standard for industry best practices.

  • Bridge the gap between business and IT, fostering data-driven processes and procedures.

  • Thrive in an environment where ambiguity sparks innovation.

  • Experience in requirements gathering, documentation, solution architecture, design, development and deployment.

  • Able to balance multiple projects with ease and adapt to shifting priorities.

  • Demonstrated consulting skills, experienced with organizational change management concepts and strategies, including communication plans, strategies to drive culture change, and implementation of performance measures to track progress.

  • Must be self-directed with excellent initiative and organizational skills.
