Job Title: Sr. Analytical Chemist
Job Description
The Sr. Analytical Chemist will support the development of new commercial animal health products for companion animals and manage Analytical Development projects, primarily focusing on oral solid dose forms. The role involves writing protocols, generating reports, interpreting data, and completing analytical testing to advance product development projects.
Responsibilities
Perform analytical testing including HPLC, UPLC, Dissolution, and other chromatographic methods.
Conduct a variety of wet chemistry and physical property testing for quality control of samples, including pH, sulfated ash, titrations, TLC, etc.
Prepare samples of raw materials, intermediates, and finished products for analytical testing.
Log and document samples in accordance with GMP guidelines.
Perform stability testing following established protocols.
Dispose of samples and conduct lab clean-up duties as required.
Support routine testing workload in the Analytical R&D Lab when not focused on individual projects.
Essential Skills
Strong experience with HPLC or UPLC (Agilent systems preferred).
Experience with Quality by Design (QbD) or Design of Experiments (DoE) methodology.
Statistical analysis skills.
Ability to write protocols and design experiments independently.
Experience in method development and validation.
5+ years of industry experience with Analytical R&D or QC in a GMP environment.
Pharmaceutical experience strongly preferred.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
MS Degree or higher in Chemistry or related field.
Experience with dissolution testing strongly preferred.
Work Environment
The position is based in an R&D Analytical Lab environment, with a team of six analytical members plus a supervisor and manager. The work shift is Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, with some variation of +/- 2 hours. Flexible start and end times are available, and there is a preference for someone who can work until 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM to help stagger coverage and manage space constraints. The team is diverse, interactive, and collaborative, often working together to cover necessary tasks. The culture encourages critical thinking, challenging the status quo, and supporting team members when workloads are high. The role offers 2 weeks of PTO (accrued) and 6 paid holidays, with potential for extension or conversion beyond 2025.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $40.00 - $50.00
