Proposal Writer - Lead

Locations: GA-Atlanta, IN-Indianapolis, OH-Cincinnati, VA-Roanoke, GA-Midland, VA-Norfolk, VA-Richmond, NY-Latham, KY-Louisville, NV- Las Vegas ME-South Portland, MO-St. Louis

This position will work a hybrid model (remote and office). The ideal candidate will live within 50 miles of one of our Elevance Health PulsePoint locations.

The Proposal Writer Lead will be responsible for business development/proposal writing at the expert level. Aligned to a functional area within the delivery of services, this position is responsible to lead, understand and aid in the development of complex proposals and provide guidance to Proposal Writers at all levels.

How you will make an impact:

  • Coach and mentor internal and external Proposal Writers and functional Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) on all aspects of proposals.

  • Accountable for the initial outline and strategy of all functionally aligned proposal sections, incorporates strategy and win themes throughout the proposal.

  • Acts as the SMEs for proposal writing and responsible for quality of drafts.

  • Makes recommendations to style guide, responsible for narrative and ensuring content is current.

  • Maintains, updates, and is responsible for the proposal library of responses within functional area, and works across functional areas as necessary, with other proposal writer leads, to deliver a comprehensive and compelling proposal in one voice.

  • Provides feedback to external proposal writers and to the Director of Writing about the quality and timeliness of work being completed. ​

Minimum Requirements:

  • Requires a BA/BS in a related field and minimum 10 years of proposal related and/or writing experience; or any combination of education and experience, which would provide an equivalent background.

Preferred Skills, Capabilities and Experiences:

  • In-depth knowledge of government solicited RFPs and expert level experience in managing large-scale proposals or communication initiatives including writing and reviewing healthcare bids for healthcare companies in a deadline driven environment strongly preferred.

For candidates working in person or remotely in the below locations, the salary* range for this specific position is $95,360 to $171,64
