Global Security Operations Center Specialist
YOUR TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The primary responsibilities of this role, Global Security Operations Center Specialistare to:
The Global Security Specialist reports to the Global Security Operations Manager at Bayer in St. Louis, Missouri. The Global Security Specialist supports the Global Security Organization by providing the first point of contact for security and safety situations involving St. Louis and off-site facilities, medical emergencies, employee assists, media inquiries and consumer hotline.
Performs assigned tasks from detailed instructions, established policies and procedures;
Maintains situational awareness by utilizing and maintaining electronic surveillance and detection systems through security console operations to include; security, fire, access control, HVAC, mass notification, crisis and incident monitoring and executive support;
Based on console indications or events, identifies, communicates, initiates and coordinates appropriate response/notification based on security guidelines;
Provides security protection by utilizing and monitoring the organization’s electronic surveillance systems, intrusion detection system, equipment alarms, building automation system, andother monitoring devices. Disseminating national and international communications via email, text and dispatching of resources on eight different channels;
Data entry / retrieval utilizing the organization’s security management system. Assists security team in the smooth operation of post and shift operations and keeps accurate logs of events and occurrences based on security guidelines;
Regularly interacts with other company security operations centers worldwide to coordinate responses to significant event;
This position will require flexibility as the shift hours for this position will vary.
WHO YOU ARE
Bayer seeks an incumbent who possesses the following:
Required Qualifications:
High school diploma/GED;
Demonstrated ability to interact with a variety of stakeholder groups and provide executive level briefings as necessary;
Experience in preparing clear and succinct written communications;
Proficiency in MS Windows and MS Office Proficiency with computer keyboard data entry, common computer applications and operating systems to include the Microsoft and Apple products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint, and Access);
The ability to work under pressure in stressful, high profile, sensitive, and life threatening situations;
Must understand security concepts and theories;
Be able to multi-task, and have the ability to linssten to directio or information while typing entries into a reports application.
Preferred Qualifications:
- 2 years of police, fire, or security operations center experience, the experience may be from private, public, or military sectors
