External Job Title:
The qualified Application Developer will be a technically proficient software application user, designer, and customizer, while also able to effectively work within a development team. They will occasionally be involved in non-programming aspects of the
development process including definition of user requirements, application design, testing, deployment, documentation, and support.
Principal Accountabilities include:
Assist in the development of our proprietary Mining Execution System platform (DMO). Work with client services to parse user feedback and help develop a priority list for enhancements to the system.
Implement robust custom and third-party systems in a scalable architecture in order to design and develop solutions as specified by system requirements and specifications.
Participate as project technical lead and architect when required.
Become a power-user of Mining Operational Applications/Tools like Dispatch Control, Asset health monitoring, Asset tracking, real time process control, etc
Train new users converting onto those systems, be a secondary point of contact for support and enhancement requests coming from existing users, perform non-programming related screen enhancements and data manipulation, and act as a liaison between end users and our development team when custom programming is required.
Develop and publish thorough product documentation and FAQ's
Participate in project kick-off meetings, workshops, design reviews.
Adhere to all departmental standards and guidelines.
Strong understanding of the software development cycle from idea inception, to scoping, requirements gathering, analysis/design, construction, testing/QA, deployment, maintenance/support, and change management.
Excellent oral and written communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical users.
Exceptional technical problem solving skills, with the ability to research issues and test possible solutions independently without involving a development resource
Must be a self-starter, be able to work alone or as part of a group.
Experience with real time data management systems using data historian tools like IP21, PI etc is desirable
Required Minimum Education:
A 4-year degree in Engineering, information systems, computer science, or
