Job Summary:
Web Press Operators operate both the press and folder. The web press operator is the leader of the press crew. The operator is responsible for running and maintaining the press and folder and training others.
Essential Functions:
Works with crew members to operate the press and folder, clean and maintain equipment, change paper rolls, and perform other assigned duties. This includes, but is not limited to ensuring maintenance activities are thoroughly accomplished and documented.
Consistently inspects for and maintains a high quality of web work. Make sure all running samples are pulled, inspected and initialed.
Ensure sample copies are of the highest quality.
Follow all SOPs and works to ensure others on the crew do also.
Verify press counts by checking autocount to the counters and initial packing slips as appropriate. Ensure all autocount printouts and computer entries are correct and accurate.
Work to keep the entire press area clean at all times.
Working Conditions/Physical Demands:
Must be able to lift and move materials weighing between 30 and 75 pounds.
Must be able to use hands for a variety of repetitive material handling tasks about 90% of an 8-hour shift constantly.
Kneel and squat to do work on an occasional basis.
Must be able to constantly stand for up to 8 hours.
Must be able to climb two flights of stairs (about 23 steps) on an occasional basis.
Minimum Requirements:
High School Diploma, manufacturing experience, high degree of mechanical competency
