Our Porter role is the heartbeat of our operations. They support the whole restaurant and enable our other team members to stay on task and keep production seamless. Our Porters will learn multiple routines focused on guest services and operations support.   • Creative combinations and inspiring flavors in our beverage offerings: bottled fresh-pressed juice, smoothies, coffee/espresso, tea, local craft beer, wine, cocktails, liquid desserts and apoptogenic tonics and elixirs.

  • Real food with unsurpassed nutrition that everyone will feel great about putting into their body, whether they're vegan or vegetarian, carnivore or omnivore! A robust online ordering platform, picnics to go, grab-and-go in store and eventual dine-in.

  • Workshops and hosted events, currently via YouTube, Zoom and Instagram Live - and eventually in-house - are an important part of our community outreach and event programming.

Total Compensation:

Total Compensation Range: $18-$23 per hour

Key Elements of Porter Position:

  • Actively promote a positive atmosphere and culture of excellence through teamwork, job knowledge, work ethic and flexibility

  • Coordinate with and assist fellow employees to meet guests' needs and support operations

  • Fill-in for fellow employees where needed to ensure guest service standards and efficient operations

  • Cleaning:

  • Follow daily cleaning duties

  • Wash dishes, glassware, flatware, pots, or pans, using a dishwasher or by hand

  • Clean and handle tableware carefully to prevent breakage and loss

  • Maintain kitchen work areas, equipment, or utensils in clean and orderly condition

  • Sweep and/or mop floors

  • Clean food preparation and production areas as required

  • Sort and remove trash, placing it in designated pickup areas

  • Clean garbage cans, take garbage and recycling out

  • Check restrooms hourly for cleanliness and supplies

  • Keeping equipment clean and in running order

  • Bussing and Running:

  • Ensure guests orders are received timely with a friendly smile

  • Ensure guests tables are cleared and cleaned quickly and efficiently

  • Stocking and Inventory:

  • Place clean dishes, utensils, or cooking equipment in storage areas

  • Stock supplies, food, and utensils in serving stations, coffee bar and refrigerators

  • Maintain adequate levels of clean tableware for dining room and kitchen

  • Maintain adequate levels of dish detergents and cleaning supplies

  • Receive, transfer and store supplies or equipment between storage and work areas, by hand or using hand trucks

  • Maintenance:

  • Monitor dishwasher water temperature to ensure sanitary wash cycle

  • Report any functional or mechanical problems to the Manager

  • Team Work:

  • Be punctual and able to observe regular and consistent attendance

  • Maintains a clean, safe and aesthetically pleasing work environment by following health and safety guidelines and keeping equipment clean and in running order

  • Observes safety and security procedures; reports potentially unsafe conditions; uses equipment and materials properly

  • Flexible, enthusiastic and open to learn and perform all aspects of CKJ operations

  • Attend all scheduled employee meetings and offers suggestions for improvement

  • Special projects and other responsibilities as assigned

  • Food Handlers Card will be required within 7 days of hire

  • Willingness to embrace “continual improvement” of self and CKJ

  • Follows instructions, responds to management direction; takes responsibility for own actions; completes tasks on time or notifies appropriate person with an alternate plan
