Data Center is a complex application and a strategic growth area for Eaton. It has unique characteristics derived from the fact that it straddles IT and facility, and that the Data Center and IT are in the middle of a radical transformation due to the combination of digitization and surge of AI loads driving a fast growth in power needs on the one hand, and de-carbonization and grid saturation on other hand.
As Strategic Key Account Manager, Date Center (DC), your mission is to establish Eaton as a market leader in the data center segment in Switzerland by managing Eaton’s reputation and sales in complex, multiproduct projects. The primary goal of this role is to implement the national account strategy across Switzerland to drive sustainable increased sales, market share and customer satisfaction in the dedicated segment. Currently the main customer market base is around Zürich (approx.70%) and between Geneva & Lausanne (approx. 30%). As a technical and commercial expert, you will be the primary interface between Eaton and these key accounts. The required travelling time for this role is for at least 50%. The role includes the following responsibilities:
What you’ll do:
Identify and select strategic projects and accounts that require a dedicated approach
Develop a strong sales pipeline over 1 to 3 years, aiming to achieve our annual sales and financial targets
Work closely with our sales, marketing teams and operational units to maintain our thorough competitive go to market approach and evolve our offerings
Build a consultative approach to provide added value to high-level decision-makers within the segment
Represent Eaton and enhance our strong organizational brand image at key industry events
Manage responses to private and public tenders, advocating for our solutions both technically and commercially
Oversee effective handover to post order project management, product services & customer support teams
Finalize commercial process and secure purchase orders and framework agreements
Ensure regular reporting and utilize Eaton's commercial management tools
Qualifications:
Bachelors Degree or Higher Diploma in Electricity or Engineering. Or equivalent data center industry experience
10+ years of related experience in the data center business
Skills:
Demonstrated ability to inspire and coordinate others.
The position requires entrepreneurial spirit, high degree of customer affinity and a very strong to influence others.
Strong technical and engineering presence.
Demonstrable knowledge of data center design and operations.
Strong executive presence and ability to relate well as a peer to leaders of target customers
Must be able to take a leadership role in managing complex situations
Must be able to identify and implement new tools and processes
Fluent in German, English and French is a plus.
Understand when to support, When to lead. When to Listen and when to Direct.
