Salvation Army Custodian - Corps in St. Cloud, Minnesota

Position Summary The Salvation Army St. Cloud Corp Custodian for the Shelter is responsible for general cleaning of the shelter and dining areas and light groundskeeping. 400 US Highway 10 S, St. Cloud, MN 56304 $15.00/hour, 19 hours per week Essential Functions (approximate time spent) Perform custodial duties to maintain clean, tidy, and sanitary conditions throughout assigned areas (e.g., Chapel, offices). (85%) Maintain building grounds including picking up rubbish and light landscaping. (5%) Assist with special/seasonal events, including room set up, driving supplies, etc. (5%) Assist maintenance with minor repairs and projects as assigned. (5%) Education and Experience High School diploma or equivalent required. Two years of custodial experience. Pass background checks. Valid driver's license and pass MVR qualifications preferred. Competencies Working knowledge of safe handling of equipment, chemicals, and materials regularly used in basic maintenance and custodial duties. Ability to perform some or all physical tasks including lifting, scrubbing, sweeping, mopping, and other custodial duties. Good interpersonal and communication skills. Ability to use PC. Working Conditions Regular physical work and must be able to regularly lift 50 pound and occasionally lift 75 pounds required. Professional environment; not eligible for a remote-friendly work environment. Must be able to stand, bend, crouch, reach, climb, and walk for most of the shift. Must be able to communicate clearly in English, and work in person or on the phone. Supervisory Responsibilities None. Driving/Travel Requirements If approved to drive, may drive agency vehicle locally to support the mission of The Salvation Army.
