IT Concepts Software Engineer (Cleared) in Springfield, Virginia

IT Concepts is looking for an cleared Software Engineer to support the National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency.

Responsibilities:

  • Software Testing & Training:

  • Perform software testing and debugging for applications and systems requiring low-level control processing.

  • Provide training to the Agency workforce on new software applications and systems.

  • Develop and maintain office-specific tools and capabilities to support operational needs and enhance productivity.

  • Embedded Software Development:

  • Develop embedded software for real-time and near real-time operating systems and processors.

  • Work on networking and radio systems integration as required.

  • Business Process Modernization:

  • Conduct thorough business process reviews to identify opportunities for optimization and efficiency.

  • Design and implement improvements and modernization strategies for business processes.

  • Knowledge Management (KM) Coordination:

  • Lead and coordinate activities related to KM needs, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and technology requirements.

  • Maintain awareness of other Agency KM tools and technologies, evaluating their potential integration into office business processes.

  • User Interface Design:

  • Collaborate with desk officers to improve the design and functionality of user interface features.

  • System Analysis & Problem Resolution:

  • Analyze system capabilities and resolve issues related to program intent, output requirements, input data acquisition, programming techniques, and controls.

  • Documentation & Development:

  • Prepare operating instructions and design/develop compilers, assemblers, utility programs, and operating systems as needed.

Location: On-site in Springfield, VA

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field. Advanced degree preferred.

  • 8-10 years of relevant experience with the following:

  • Proven experience in software development, particularly with embedded systems and real-time operating systems.

  • Strong proficiency in designing and implementing business process improvements.

  • Experience with KM coordination and developing office-specific tools.

  • Knowledge of user interface design and user experience (UX) principles.

  • Familiarity with software testing methodologies and debugging techniques.

  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to analyze and resolve complex system issues.

  • Excellent communication skills for documentation and training purposes.

  • Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams and desk officers.

  • Demonstrated experience in coordinating and leading activities of engineers/specialists related to technology needs.

  • Demonstrated experience in using web-based technologies such as browsers, Coldfusion, ASP pages, HTML code, object-oriented technology, graphics software, and content management systems.

  • Preferred skills:

  • Demonstrated experience in understanding of technology requirements specific to international affairs and IC coordination

  • Demonstrated experience with Imagery Disclosure Tool (IDT), Request Action Tracker (RAT), or SharePoint custom workflows.

  • Demonstrated experience working on complex embedded real-time systems.

  • Experience developing mission critical and/or safety critical software.

  • Proficiency with one or more of the following software languages and environments: C, C++, C#, VHDL.

Clearance requirements:

  • Must have an active TS/SCI at the time of hire, and willing/able to get CI Polygraph
