AEM, Inc. Project Control Analyst in Springfield, Virginia
SUMMARY
The Project Control Analyst will be responsible for monitoring, analyzing, and reporting financial performance at the project level. This role supports Business Units by ensuring data accuracy, completeness, and assessing financial health at the project level.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Performance Monitoring
o
Track and analyze business unit financials, including revenue, costs, and profitability, and prepare monthly, quarterly, and ad-hoc financial reports at a project level.
o
Oversee cost control processes to ensure financial goals are met, working closely with business unit leaders to identify and address any discrepancies.
o
Identify and mitigate financial risks by performing in-depth financial analysis and creating contingency plans.
o
Analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) and provide insights for optimization.
o
Use project data to identify trends, cost drivers, and opportunities for cost optimization.
o
Ensure project accounting practices adhere to company policies and industry regulations, maintaining accurate records and documentation for audits.
Reporting
o
Maintain project documentation in accordance with company standards
o
Evaluate continuously and improve project control processes and reporting methodologies for greater accuracy and efficiency.
Risk Management
o
Identify potential project risks and develop mitigation strategies.
o
Conduct regular risk assessments and update risk management plans.
Collaboration
o
Facilitate meetings to discuss project status, challenges, and solutions.
o
Collaborate with business unit leaders to support decision making and enhance project outcomes.
o
Collaborate with business unit leaders, project teams, operations, and finance to ensure that all stakeholders have a clear understanding of the project's financial standing.

SPECIAL SKILLS AND ABILITIES
- Proficiency in financial software (eg ERP systems) and advanced knowledge of Excel. Familiarity with SQL and project management software is a plus.
- Strong ability to analyze financial data, create detailed reports, and make informed recommendations based on findings.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to explain complex financial information to both financial and non-financial stakeholders.
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail, with a proactive approach to problem-solving.
