AEM, Inc. Payroll Accounting Administrator in Springfield, Virginia
SUMMARY
Compile and record employee time and payroll data. Compute employees' time worked, production, and commission. Compute and post wages and deductions, or prepare paychecks. Prepare compensation, benefits, and headcount reports and analyses as deemed necessary.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Upon notification from HR, ensure employee information is accurate in the payroll system.
Verify attendance, hours worked, and pay adjustments, and post information onto designated records.
Compute wages and deductions including sales commissions. Enter data into ADP and other systems as deemed necessary.
Process and issue employee paychecks and statements of earnings and deductions.
Ensure all employees have approved time cards in ADP etime.
Prepare and balance period-end reports.
Prepare weekly, monthly and special reports for management.
Process deductions and benefits accurately and timely including involuntary deductions like garnishments, 401K, unemployment, and insurance (medical, dental, disability, etc.).
Prepare payroll and benefits related journal entries to be posted to the accounting system.
Assist when requested with reconciliation of payroll and benefits general ledger accounts.
Issue and record adjustments to pay related to previous errors or retroactive increases.
Compile statistical reports, statements, and summaries related to pay and benefits accounts, and submit them to appropriate departments.
Document and update payroll and benefits process and procedures.
Be proficient (power user) with ADP Payroll and eTime.
Assist as requested with 401K testing/audit and benefits renewal process.
Keep informed about changes in tax and deduction laws that apply to the payroll process.
Develop understanding and utilize AutoTag (database report writer software) to prepare ad hoc reports / analyses as deemed necessary.
Assist with other Accounting related duties including storage accounting, collections, relo accounting, etc. as requested.
