Job Title : Lead Generator Technician (NGA)

Job Summary:

EMCOR Government Services is seeking a Lead Generator Tech (GT) to serve as the lead technician for all power generator equipment and systems at National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency (NGA), Washington facilities. This position is at NGA headquarters in Springfield, Virginia . The Lead GT is an essential member of a team of dedicated and talented professionals in delivering a wide range of base operations support services - such as installation and facility operations, maintenance and repair; workforce and security support; logistics support; and, project management, as well as others - at NGA facilities and sites located throughout the Washington National Capitol Region (NCR). This position is covered by the CBA for Local 99.

This position is contingent upon contract award.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Available 24/7/365, to support the operation of the power generation equipment and systems at all NGA Washington facilities and grounds. Serves during normal business hours and is available “on-call” after normal business hours, on weekends and holidays.

  • Performs preventive maintenance and repairs on power generation systems and components per Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) standards; troubleshoots and resolves power generation system malfunctions.

  • Serves as the principal technician responsible for the overall management, operation, repair and monitoring of power generation components and systems at all NGA Washington facilities and grounds.

  • Supervises/advises technicians in troubleshooting/resolving power generation components and systems malfunctions.

  • Supports overall management of power generation systems and components to ensure capability is in balance with known and/or future demand requirements.

  • Oversees the timely application of Government and local regulations, codes, standards, policies and procedures related to NGA power generation systems maintenance, operations, repair and management.

  • Working closely with the client and other stakeholders, gains an understanding of their needs and requirements and communicates them and the appropriate performance standards to the contract staff and supporting vendors.

  • Establishes and maintains an effective relationship with the customer to achieve a mutually beneficial business relationship.

  • Based on knowledge and experience, recommends ways to improve the full spectrum of power generation operations and service delivery process to ensure high-quality goods and services are delivered on time and within cost.

  • Keeps accurate documentation and when necessary, performs analysis of activities and processes to improve contract performance.

  • Pro-actively seeks feedback from clients, attends meetings, submits reports, and assists both internal and external auditors and inspectors.

Qualifications

  • Current Top Secret (TS) clearance with Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) eligibility.

  • At least 5 years of demonstrated experience with installation, commissioning, maintenance, operation and repair of generator systems and components ranging in size from 5 kW to 2,500 kW capacity.

  • Possess and be current in the following Motor and Turbine (MTU) certifications:

  • Design and function of Advanced Diesel Engineer Controller (ADEC)

  • Service and Application Module (SAM)

  • DiaSys and service tools

  • Replacement of components

  • Have successfully completed MTU certified GEN I and GEN II courses

  • Demonstrated knowledge and experience with reading and understanding blueprints, schematics and specifications.

  • Strong technical knowledge of facilities maintenance and operations, including complex electrical, mechanical, power generation and plumbing and associated control systems.

  • Highly developed leadership, management, supervisory, interpersonal, analytical and communication (oral and written) skills, to include managing personnel across multiple shifts.

  • Demonstrated ability to lead in a diverse and dynamic environment with short notice taskings and under high-pressure situations.

  • Demonstrated personnel management experience with both organic and subcontractor staff.

  • Demonstrated experience working with labor unions and/or managing service employees working under the Service Contract Act.

  • Knowledge and experience with the ARCHIBUS Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) is highly desired.

  • Demonstrated knowledge and experience with MTU (e.g. Rolls-Royce) and Kohler manufactured generator systems and components is highly desired.

  • Valid Driver’s License required
