Description
PeaceHealth is seeking a Applications Developer Lead for a Full Time, 1.00 FTE, Day position. The salary range for this job opening at PeaceHealth is $44.25 – $66.37. The hiring rate is dependent upon several factors, including but not limited to education, training, work experience, terms of any applicable collective bargaining agreement, seniority, etc.
Responsible for coordinating the day-to-day functions for assigned area. Assists with ensuring that departmental goals are achieved, timelines met and service excellence provided in all aspects of work. Subject matter expert. Additionally responsible for designing, implementing and maintaining data collection, integration and storage tools. Includes the development of new applications not provided by software vendors, customization of vendor-supplied systems and development to further integrate a mix of vendor-supplied and internally developed applications and databases.
***Acts as technical lead and release manager for PeaceHealth's Epic program. Provides oversight for data courier processes, change control, technical tasks and requirements, and other key areas .
Details of the Position:
Assigns work; plans and manages priorities, provides technical assistance, oversees staff schedules, monitors quality of work, monitors team projects, mentors staff, provides constructive feedback, oversees staff training, ensures quality improvement, provides leadership feedback on staff performance, and assists with goal setting for the team.
Assists leadership in the strategic planning, goal setting for the team, assessment of resource requirements, and development of policies/procedures and provides feedback on caregiver’s performance.
Designs, tests, install and upgrades production relational databases and accompanying applications.
Develops and maintains logical and physical entity/relationship data models and implement model schemas within standard database technologies. Plans and conducts structured testing of database designs to confirm functionality and performance.
With key stakeholders, conducts analysis of application environments, documents requirements, and defines technical architecture. Develops customizations and tailoring of applications and databases, knowledgeably coordinates details across a variety of teams. May serve as an application consultant in defining systems to achieve objectives for technical and application support.
Plans and conducts periodic application performance monitoring to ensure general response times meet customer expectations. Performs routine or customary operational and monitoring activities to ensure database environments are stable and capable of meeting on-going business needs.
Works collaboratively with key stakeholders to maintain application development standards, monitor standards for consistent usage and help other move towards standards.
Develops tools as appropriate to support application initiatives using knowledge of content management tools and concepts.
Researches new technologies, recommends upgrades, enhancements, etc. and assist with the implementation of new technologies.
May be responsible for security audits for regulatory or legal compliance including HIPPAA internal policies, etc.
Responds to system emergencies, downtimes, etc. Work on-call and facilitates additional support capabilities with IST as appropriate.

What You Bring:
Education
- Bachelor's Degree Required: Computer Science. Or related, relevant field. Equivalent experience may substitute for degree
Experience
Required: Experience/knowledge to develop interactive database applications and
Minimum of 3 years Required: Experience using Windows (and components such as IIS, etc.) Office, web editors, iSeries web environments, and other tools used for web-based and client/server applications and
Minimum of 2 years Required: Experience with web and application server capabilities for various platforms such as Windows, AS/400, Tandem, etc and
Minimum of 3 years Required: Experience with server-based database platforms such as Microsoft SQL Server, IBM DB2, Oracle and associated programming languages such as RPG, Visual Basic, Java, JavaScript, ASP, NET, HTML, XML, etc and
Required: Experience and/or knowledge with server platforms (hardware and software) and configurations, including but not limited to services such as Microsoft’s Internet Information Server (IIS), Microsoft Index Server, IBM web frameworks, WebSphere, APACHE, Secure Sockets Layer, use of Outlook/Exchange within the framework of web pages/site(s), electronic commerce, etc and
Required: Experience/knowledge of relational and object-oriented databases and structures and
Preferred: Experience with data modeling, logical and physical database design
Skills
Department / Location Specific Notes
Application Developer Lead – Epic Technical Administration:
Experience working in a Healthcare technical environment.
Familiarity with Epic EMR, specifically application admin, release management (RA’s SRG’s and other), and leading technical projects.
Works with technical resources to manage Epic technical environment.
Tracks technical integration issues and coordinates issue resolution.
Leads planning, implementing, and reporting for Epic technical downtimes.
Facilitates weekly technical meetings.
Coordinates Honor Roll (tech) items: semi-annual DR Cutover projects, i.e. BC readiness, Capacity, Hardware, OS Patching, Target Platforms, etc.
Ensures Data Governance compliance: all CAB submissions must have test plan, test evidence, back out plan.
Epic certifications preferred, but not required. Opportunity for Epic certifications will be available.
