Actalent Controls Engineer in Springfield, Ohio

Job Title: Controls EngineerJob Description

We are seeking a skilled Controls Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will create and maintain electrical drawings for both new and current models, layout electrical control cabinets, and work closely with the engineering department to ensure systems adhere to the latest technology and electrical standards. You will write PLC programs for industrial equipment and assist in the design and development of electrical software programs for new products and upgrades. Additionally, you will collaborate with customers, the service team, and the engineering team to solve technical problems and provide training.

Responsibilities

  • Create and maintain electrical drawings for new and current models.

  • Layout electrical control cabinets.

  • Collaborate with the engineering department to keep systems updated with current technology and electrical standards.

  • Write PLC programs for industrial equipment.

  • Assist in the design and development of electrical software programs for new and upgraded products.

  • Work with customers, service team, and engineering team to solve technical problems and provide training.

Essential Skills

  • PLC programming

  • HMI

  • Troubleshooting

  • AutoCAD Electrical

  • Associates degree in Electrical Engineering

  • 3 to 5 years of experience in a related field

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Understanding of AutoCAD Electrical or other PLC programs

  • Experience with Rslogix, Schematic, Siemens PLC, Rockwell, ERP systems

  • OEM Circuit Design

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience

  • 3 years of experience with industrial controls and system integration with a strong focus on PLC software programming

  • Servo design/development and troubleshooting experience with advanced motion control systems, including multi-axis and coordinated axis applications

  • Advanced knowledge of AutoCAD

  • Familiarity with ERP systems, SAP is a plus

  • Good understanding of domestic and international electrical codes (NEC, IEC60204-1)

Work Environment

You will work in an innovative environment that offers a good work-life balance with limited overtime. The role involves some customer support travel (approximately 10%). You will have the opportunity to work with an international company and engage with clients globally.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $38.46 - $40.87/hr.
