Trinity Health Registered Nurse (RN) Assistant Nurse Manager Labor & Delivery in Springfield, Massachusetts

Description:

Eight (8) to Twelve (12) hour responsibility and accountability for providing direction and leadership to staff ensuring development and appreciation of nursing standards to enhance the quality of care to patients within stated assigned areas. Continually aware of patient census and facilitates admissions, discharges and transfers between units in a timely manner. Collaborates with Director / Nurse Manager in developing goals, evaluating staff, and maintaining regulatory compliance. Serves as a role model as well as a resource to staff, patients, and families and the interdisciplinary team. Coordinates unit specific quality /process improvement initiatives.

At Mercy Medical Center the Labor & Delivery Unit, Family Life Center 16-bed birth center proudly serves new moms and families in the local community by offering exceptional care, delivered by attentive staff with a complete array of amenities-all in a serene, homelike setting. We provide quality care for mothers during the final stages of pregnancy with birthing, monitoring mothers’ vital signs and becoming acute in signs of symptoms of possible complications. What you will do

  • Under the direction of the Nurse Manager, the Assistant Nurse Manager assists in managing unit personnel and the nursing unit environment.

  • Under the direction of the Nurse Manager, the Assistant Nurse Manager will assist with hiring and terminating staff, evaluating, and mentoring staff competency, and assuming budgetary responsibility.

  • The position requires promoting a healthcare culture that values growth and input from frontline staff and requires an empowered leader who facilitates the delivery of safe, high-quality patient care.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Education : Graduate of an accredited college or university affiliated nursing program. BSN graduate preferred.

  • Licensure : Current Licensure as a Registered Nurse RN in Massachusetts.

  • Certification : BLS (AHA/ARC). ACLS & Neonatal resuscitation required within 6 months of hire. C-EFM certification within two years of hire.

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience: 2 or more years in Maternal Child Health required. 1 or more years of management/supervisory experience, such as charge nurse, preferred.

Work Schedule : Part Time – 24 hours – 12 Hour Day Shift, 8am-8:30pm, Every other Weekend, Holiday.
