Army National Guard Units SUPPLY TECHNICIAN (TITLE 32) in Springfield, Illinois

Summary THIS IS A NATIONAL GUARD TITLE 32 EXCEPTED SERVICE POSITION. This National Guard position is for a SUPPLY TECHNICIAN (TITLE 32), Position Description Number D0849000 and is part of the IL JFHQ, National Guard. Responsibilities As a SUPPLY TECHNICIAN (TITLE 32), GS-2005-5/6/7, you will perform duties associated with storage and distribution, cataloging and/or supply identifications systems, property utilization, or other related supply activities. Major Duties - This is NOT an all-inclusive list: Perform routine and non-routine material coordination duties for special programs, maintenance, or production shops. Responsible for local management of decentralized and decontrolled items which require technical intervention to ensure effective supply and economy. Plan for supply requirements to satisfy customer needs. Authorize procurement for funds management. Responsible for storage and distribution of supplies. Utilize cataloging and/or supply identification systems to properly account for supplies. Conduct extensive and exhaustive searches for required information in order to reconstruct records for complex supply transactions. Perform routine aspects of supply specialist work based on practical knowledge of standard supply procedures. Utilize requisitions, supporting documents, and reference material to perform material coordination storage management. Utilize established supply regulations, policies, procedures, and other instructions to perform specific supply assignments. Requirements Conditions of Employment IAW The Fair Chance Act, Agency employees may not request criminal history information at the point of initial application, upon receipt of an application, or prior to, during or after a job interview. This is an excepted service position that requires membership in the Illinois National Guard and in the military grade listed in the announcement. Selectee will be required to wear the military uniform. Acceptance of an excepted service position constitutes concurrence with these requirements as a condition of employment. May be required to successfully complete a probationary period. This position is covered by the Domestic Violence Misdemeanor Amendment (30 Sep 96) of the Gun Control Act (Lautenberg Amendment) of 1968. An individual convicted of a qualifying crime of domestic violence may not perform the duties of this position. Irregular and/or overtime (compensatory) hours may be required to support operational requirements or contingencies or may be required to work hours outside of the normal duty day. Participation in direct deposit is mandatory. Recruitment and relocation incentives may be available for this position. PCS expenses may be authorized. Qualifications AREA OF CONSIDERATION: The areas of consideration for this position, Title 32 Excepted Service (32 U.S. Code ยง 709), will be in the following manner and sequence: The FIRST area of consideration for this position will be all excepted permanent and indefinite temporary technicians within the ILNG. The SECOND area of consideration will be all current Federal Employees. The THIRD area of consideration will be all Federal re-employment eligible. The FOURTH area of consideration will be applicants willing to become T32 Dual Status Technicians and gain ILNG membership. The FIFTH area of consideration will U.S. Citizens. Military Grades: Officer/Warrant Officer/Enlisted - May not exceed the rank of CPT. GENERAL EXPERIENCE: MUST possess experience, education, or training in a variety of operations or situations concerned with substance or content of supply actions, requiring ability to decide course of action to take, considering the circumstances or conditions encountered; knowledge of basic or commonly applied rules, procedures, or operations such as, filling out, posting, filing, controlling, or coding documents and/or transactions; experience using computer and automation systems. SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: GS-07 LEVEL - MUST possess specialized experience which includes 12 months of specialized experience at the lower-level GS-06, education, or training which may also include experience controlling supply stocks and accounting for equipment, cataloging, maintenance, and disposal procedures. Completing complex supply transactions; and/or providing supply operations support; experience coordinating with other organizations on complex and controversial supply issues. Experience analyzing, developing, evaluating to improve supply programs, policies, procedures, techniques, etc.; knowledge on the entire inventory management supply system; experience providing advice and guidance on supply regulations to upper levels of management regarding supply functions. GS-06 LEVEL - MUST possess specialized experience which includes 1-year of specialized experience at the lower-level GS-05, education, or training which demonstrates knowledge of governing supply regulations, policies, procedures, and instructions applicable to the specific assignment; experience conducting searches for required information; reconstruct records for supply transactions; and/or provide supply operations support for activities involving specialized or unique supplies, equipment, and parts; experience performing various aspects of supply specialist work based on practical knowledge of standard procedures, where assignments include individual case problems related to segments in one or more major areas of supply management; experience which required person-to-person contacts to convey information and ability to compile reports, letters, memoranda, etc. GS-05 LEVEL - MUST possess specialized experience which includes 1-year of specialized experience at the lower-level GS-04, which demonstrates knowledge of standardized supply regulations, policies, procedures, or other instructions relating to the specific functions assigned; experience that demonstrates knowledge of one or more automated supply databases to enter and retrieve recurring reports; experience using working knowledge of the structure of a supply organization and the organizations serviced. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. Education If you are using Education to qualify for this position, successful completion of 4 academic years of education in an accredited college or university will satisfy the requirements for GS-5 position. Two full academic years of study (60 semester hours) beyond the second year is equivalent to 6 months of specialized experience for GS-5 positions. To receive credit for Education, you must provide documentation of proof that you meet the Education requirements for this position.
