Your qualifications & skills

  • Bachelor/Master degree in computer engineering or equivalent

  • 10+ years of software development experience in a technical capacity (e.g. Software Developer, Software Engineer in Test).

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills required.

  • Knowledge of agile methods and experience in an agile team required.

  • 3+ years leadership experience and managing engineers is preferred.

  • You have built and managed high performing engineering teams and hired top class engineers.

  • Demonstrated ability to attract/recruit/retain external talent and be a coach and employee champion.

  • Strategic thinker with the ability to move and act at the operational and tactical levels when required.

Nice to haves:

  • Experience in Finance/ U.S Payroll domain.

  • Good understanding of software architecture, and networking concepts.

  • Experience leading organizational change, including engaging stakeholders.

  • Familiarity with data privacy and protection legislature such as GDPR.

Responsibilities

As a Manager of Software engineering team, you will:

  • Lead agile and cross-functional software development teams of “one engineers” who own development and testing, to enhance and maintain the HCM Payroll product.

  • Play a key part in hiring strong team members to grow the organization.

  • Assist direct reports with career growth and personal development.

  • Align the business strategy with growth opportunities for direct reports.

  • Empower your teams, motivating and making your teams and people successful

  • Nurture future leaders.

  • Build networks and trusting relationships across a globally distributed product organization.

  • Ensure work is planned, estimated, scheduled, and delivered on-time with high quality.

  • Work closely with Product Management to ensure successful delivery of product scope.

Range and benefit information provided in this posting are specific to the stated locations only

Canada: Hiring Range from $88,100 to $192,000 CAD per annum

US: Hiring Range: from $84,800 to $223,500 per annum. May be eligible for bonus and equity.

Oracle maintains broad salary ranges for its roles in order to account for variations in knowledge, skills, experience, market conditions and locations, as well as reflect Oracle’s differing products, industries and lines of business.

Candidates are typically placed into the range based on the preceding factors as well as internal peer equity.

  8. Paid time off: Flexible Vacation is provided to all eligible employees assigned to a salaried (non-overtime eligible) position. Accrued Vacation is provided to all other employees eligible for vacation benefits. For employees working at least 35 hours per week, the vacation accrual rate is 13 days annually for the first three years of employment and 18 days annually for subsequent years of employment. Vacation accrual is prorated for employees working between 20 and 34 hours per week. Employees working fewer than 20 hours per week are not eligible for vacation.

  10. Paid sick leave: 72 hours of paid sick leave upon date of hire. Refreshes each calendar year. Unused balance will carry over each year up to a maximum cap of 112 hours.
