Entry Level Machine Operator

(Multiple Shifts Available)

Job Description

We are seeking a Machinist Trainee who will be trained to set up and operate CNC machines, manual mills, and manual lathes to produce precision parts efficiently. You will work closely with a trainer to learn each step of the machine operation process.

Responsibilities

  • Position and fasten work pieces

  • Align and secure holding fixtures, cutting tools, attachments, accessories, and materials onto machines

  • Select appropriate tools and materials

  • Machine parts to specifications

  • Set up, adjust, and operate basic machine tools

  • Calculate dimensions and tolerances using knowledge of mathematics and instruments such as micrometers and gauges

  • Read and understand gauging sheets

  • Read and interpret blueprints and ensure machines and tooling are operating correctly

  • Complete onboarding processes including the 5S program, hazard assessment, logging in and out of jobs, safety procedures, and data sheet systems

  • Practice safe lifting techniques and use hoists appropriately

  • Take detailed notes for future reference

Essential Skills

  • Strong math skills, including converting fractions to decimals

  • Mechanical aptitude

  • Ability to use a tape measure accurately

  • Trainable with a good attitude

  • Experience in machine operation

  • Proficiency with hand tools

  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints
