Harrison Energy Partners BAS Project Engineer in Springdale, Arkansas

SUMMARY DESCRIPTION:

Responsible for hardware and software design for building automation systems. Applies engineering principles and practices for work on assigned projects. Designs cost effective control solutions to meet project requirements.

PRIMARY ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Responsible for design utilizing direct digital controls, electronic and pneumatic comfort control and automation systems.

  • Responsible for the sequence of operations which meet the project requirements.

  • Applies knowledge of engineering principles and practices.

  • Creates bill of material based on project requirements.

  • Responsible for creating installation drawings, submittal drawings, as-built drawings.

  • Provides technical support to BAS technicians, as well as engineering direction and support to other team members.

  • Reviews equipment submittals for incorporation into design.

  • Negotiates and orders required manufacturer material and outside purchases.

  • Some travel with occasional overnight stays.

  • Flexibility to work outside normal work hours/weekends, as required.

  • Perform any other related duties as required or assigned.

    QUALIFICATIONS:

    To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty mentioned satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required.

    EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:

    Bachelor’s degree in Engineering and 1-3 years experience; or Associate’s degree or equivalent from two-year college or Technical/Trade school in electrical engineering and a certificate in HVAC or AAS and BAS in electrical engineering and 2-3 years related experience. HVAC controls experience preferred. Equivalent combination of education and experience considered.

    REQUIRED CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:

    State driver’s license, auto insurance, auto registration, acceptable driving record.

    PREFERRED CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:

    None indicated.

    SOFTWARE SKILLS REQUIRED:

    Specific Programs and/or skills:

    Demonstrated ability to use software applications, including database management, Microsoft Office Suite, Visio, or similar design and drafting software.

    COMMUNICATION SKILLS:

    Ability to effectively communicate orally and in written form. Ability to respond to questions person to person, small group, and public situations with customers and other employees of the organization.

    While performing the functions of this job, the employee is exposed to typical office environment with occasional visits to job sites, the employee will be exposed to work near moving mechanical parts, outdoor weather conditions; and occasionally exposed to risk of electrical shock, work in high, precarious places; and fumes or airborne particles. Position requires auto travel, including hazardous weather/temperature conditions and other inherent traffic hazards. The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet.
