The Associate Product Manager - Foodservice and Retail is responsible for the management of all business activities for the Foodservice Raw Breakfast Sausage and Retail Regional/Private Label Breakfast Sausage category. This role manages the P&L to meet Annual Operating Plan objectives & develops and/or collaborates on long and short-term strategies, sustaining innovation, and sales programs that will achieve volume, profit, and share objectives.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Own the P&L for the Foodservice Raw Breakfast Sausage category, including developing and executing business plans, pricing and/or cost savings strategies to deliver against category volume, profit and share objectives.
  • Own the P&L for the Retail Private Label & Retail Regional Breakfast Sausage category, including developing and executing business plans, pricing and/or cost savings strategies to deliver against category volume, profit and share objectives.
  • Own the monthly volume forecast for assigned categories, coordinating between demand and supply planning to deliver best-in-class forecast accuracy.
  • Work collaboratively with Insights, Sensory, R&D, Customer Planning & Development, Sales Operations, and the Business Unit to identify new ideas, build research and development plans, screen ideas and optimize our innovation offerings to meet consumer/operator needs and have a clear point of differentiation vs. competition.
  • Lead development and execution of product and packaging innovation projects including concept development, feasibility validation, product and packaging R&D, business proposal and approval, project execution, customer sell in and tracking of in-market performance.
  • Collaborate with the sales and channel marketing organization to understand and integrate operator and/or distributor strategies into innovation pipeline. Proactively work with these partners to on innovation forecast accuracy, maximization of opportunities and development of plans to deliver against JBP objectives.
  • Evaluate retailer Private Label opportunities against volume, profit, and complexity targets and partner with R&D, SS&P and Capacity and Supply Planning to develop custom product formulations to win new business.
  • Monitor performance measurements to ensure sales volume and profit objectives are accomplished - recommend and implement corrective actions.
  • Act as liaison with all other corporate functions to ensure business initiatives receive necessary focus.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelors Degree required; MBA preferred.
  • Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in Product/Brand Management, Foodservice or Private Label experience preferred.
  • Required Skills:
    • Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of P&Ls.
    • Proven track record in managing and meeting volume and profit targets.
    • Demonstrated strength in strategic thinking with consumer, retailer and operator lenses.
    • Strong collaborator with a demonstrated ability to lead cross functional teams & project calls.
    • Proven ability to effectively manage multiple projects in a dynamic environment.
    • Strong communication and presentation skills.
