HP Inc. Principal SW Product Manager - Consumer Services and Solutions in Spring, Texas

Responsible for designing, developing, and managing activities for a specific software product or group of products from product definition and planning through production, release, and end of life. Serves as the central resource with design, process, test, quality, and marketing as the product(s) move to production. Translates user requirements into executable work items that the software engineering team can implement.

Responsibilities

  • Monitors competitive market to determine client needs for certain product improvements.

  • Strategically partners with key senior stakeholders to understand needs and priorities.

  • Recommends product requirements and definitions to align with stakeholder's needs.

  • Collaborates with the software engineering team on feature ideas and prototypes to bring potential solutions to life

  • Advises key stakeholders on the portfolio strategy across all phases of the lifecycle

  • Tracks and reports key metrics to drive future product developments

Knowledge & Skills

  • Ability to communicate across all levels of the organization, technical and non-technical audiences.

  • Software leadership experience, including demonstrated examples of management through influence and collaboration in a complex, multi-cultural global environment, building a culture of accountability.

  • Strong leadership and innovation skills.

  • Outstanding organizational and innovation skills.

  • High: Extensive cross-functional/cross-organizational senior management interface; deals with complex strategic issues.

  • Provides mentoring and guidance to lower level employees.

Education and Experience Required:

  • Typically has 10+ years of work experience, preferably in product management, digital or software product development, or a related field.

  • Experience cross-collaborating to drive projects forward

  • Solid organizational skills, attention to detail, and excellent communication skills.

  • A growth mindset.  Must fearlessly acknowledge successes and setbacks, accept feedback, and quickly progress the team to the next step. 

  • Passion for learning and trying new hardware and software technologies and their associated workings, advantages, shortcomings, and application in customer use cases and experiences.

  • Ability to work independently, effectively management time and priorities, maintain a 'problem-solving' attitude, and resourcefully bring forward ideas and recommendations.

The base pay range for this role is $146,650 to $225,850 annually with additional opportunities for pay in the form of bonus and/or equity (applies to US candidates only). Pay varies by work location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
