Cole Speech & Language Director of Rehabilitation in Spring, Texas

Job Description: Assess and treat individuals with speech, language, voice, and fluency disorders and maintain operational oversight over the department as to personnel management, budgetary oversight, program development, and quality control. Duties include:

Conduct evaluations to diagnose speech, language, communication, and swallowing disorders in individuals of all ages;

Develop personalized therapy plans to address speech, language, communication, and swallowing difficulties using various techniques and strategies;

Provide education to individuals, families, and caregivers about communication disorders and offering counseling and support to facilitate progress and adjustment to treatment plan;

Independently manage and train full-time, part-time, and contract allied health professionals;

Directly report to the Regional Director and/or President, maintaining open lines of communication;

Oversee therapist credentials, recruitment, hiring, and terminations;

Develop and oversee orientation and training programs for therapists;

Manage performance appraisals and communicate administration policies to therapists;

Coordinate therapy services with office administration;

Approve leave requests and communicate with administrative staff;

Recommend and justify purchase orders for therapeutic supplies and equipment;

Develop, revise, and enforce policies and procedures;

Monitor therapist schedules, room utilization, and client attendance;

Research and recommend new therapy programs;

Coordinate continuing education activities and in-services for therapists;

Develop and implement quality management programs;

Supervise assistants and participate in case conferences as needed;

Assist with client/family counseling and satisfaction surveys;

Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations and safety protocols;

Participate in community events and conferences as requested;

Generate semi-annual and annual reports as required.

Requirements: Bachelors degree in Speech Language Pathology or a related field. 2 years of experience as a Speech Language Pathologist in a clinical setting treating pediatrics and adolescents. Experience must include supervisory responsibilities. Must be licensed in Speech Language Pathology by the Texas State Board. CPR and ASHA certifications required.
