Strike Benefits Manager in Spring, Texas
Strike is seeking a forward leaning individual who knows what great looks like when it comes to the creation of a benefits program that is efficiently administered and attracts and retains quality personnel. Collaborating with vendor and internal IT personnel and providing them with the vision to create platforms and infrastructure that results in the efficient administration of the program and creates a highly accurate and secure management of data is a requirement. If you are that person, we are seeking you to fill our Benefits Manager role in our corporate office in Spring, TX. The ideal candidate will have 5 years of benefits administration experience, preferably with 2 years of supervisory or managerial experience, and value transparency, preparation, teamwork, and quality.
Job Summary:
The Benefits Manager will oversee and administer Strike’s comprehensive benefits programs which include, medical, pharmaceutical, dental, and vision plans along with 401k plan and various leave of absences requests. The ideal candidate will be able to act independently and have experience managing the withholdings and contributions and interacting with IT to effectively execute and manage the data transfer between the company and the provider platforms. This role requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, ability to manage multiple priorities effectively, and root-cause problem-solving skills. This position reports directly to the CHRO, its work location is at the corporate office in Spring, TX, and currently has no direct reports.
Primary Job Function:
Benefits Administration
401(k) Contributions: Process weekly 401(k) contributions, ensuring an accurate and timely submission.
HSA and FSA Funding: Manage the funding of employee Health Savings Accounts (HSA) and Flexible Spending Accounts (FSA) on a timely basis.
Vendor Meetings: Conduct weekly, biweekly, and monthly meetings with benefits vendors to review program performance, address issues, and discuss updates.
Benefit Deductions: Ensure effective weekly benefit deductions and ensure accuracy across platforms.
Compliance & Reporting:
Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations regarding employee benefits programs.
Prepare and submit required reports for regulatory compliance and internal audits.
Stay informed about changes in benefits laws and regulations to ensure ongoing compliance.
Compliance recording for ACA, SAR, 5500, NDT, and other regulated compliance requirements.
Employee Communication and Support:
Provide support and guidance to employees regarding benefits questions, claims, and issues.
Develop and deliver clear communication materials to educate employees on their benefits options and changes.
Data Management & Analysis:
Ensure accurate records of weekly benefit deductions as well as benefits enrollment, changes, and terminations.
Review weekly discrepancies and correct any errors.
Auditing between benefit carriers and 401(k).
Program Development:
Collaborate with senior management to design and implement benefits strategies that align with organizational goals.
Review and recommend enhancements to benefits programs based on employee feedback and industry needs.
Experience:
Minimum of 5 years of experience in benefits administration, analytics, or management, with a strong understanding of regulatory requirements and vendor management.
Experience working with vendors to administer platform and other benefits administration software.
Open Enrollment.
Have completed regulatory audits on benefits and 401(k).
Compliance involvement for benefits and 401(k).
Solid knowledge of Federal and State Benefits regulations and compliance requirements.
Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to explain complex information clearly.
Ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
Education/Training:
Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field, or the equivalent experience in the benefits field.
Certifications (e.g., Certified Employee Benefit Specialist (CEBS)) is preferred.

Physical Demands:

Occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 pounds.
