CNC Lead Machinist

Job Description

We are seeking a skilled CNC Machinist Lead to oversee a team of 4 operators in a dynamic shop environment. This working lead role involves operating, setting up, and editing CNC equipment, primarily lathes, and occasionally mills. The successful candidate will read and interpret blueprints, operate machines productively, perform basic tool changes, manual de-burring, and in-process inspections. You will also verify parts for conformance to specifications using various measuring devices and will be responsible for process improvement initiatives.

Skills

  • 3 years of CNC Lead experience

  • 5 years of experience in running and setting up CNC Lathe machines

  • G-Code program editing

  • Experience with measurement tools such as micrometers, calipers, gages

  • Ability to read and understand blueprints

  • Experience in CNC lathe and mill operation

Shift

The working hours for this position are 2nd shift with training on the 1st shift. Overtime is optional, typically ranging from 5 to 10 hours per week.

Pay

$52,000 - $64,480 to start

Work Site

This is a fully on-site position in Spring City, Pennsylvania.

Work Environment

The shop is well-organized and clean, though it is not temperature-controlled, experiencing cold in winter and heat in summer as external temperatures vary. The shop includes CNC Lathes and Mills from brands like HAAS, Moriseiki, Doosan, among others, and manual machines for specific rework or fixturing tasks. The team consists of approximately 30 employees, with 18 in the shop plus additional teams in hydraulic, electric assembly and QA.
