Description

Robert Half is working with a well-established distribution company in Spokane, WA, to find an experienced and detail-oriented Bookkeeper for an immediate contract or contract-to-hire position. This role is ideal for candidates who have strong full-cycle accounting experience and are comfortable handling accounts payable (AP), accounts receivable (AR), payroll, financial statement preparation, and collaborating with an external CPA firm.

This is an immediate contract or contract-to-hire opportunity.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Full-Cycle Accounting: Oversee the entire accounting process, ensuring all transactions are accurately recorded and reported in a timely manner.

  • Accounts Payable & Accounts Receivable: Manage vendor payments, customer invoicing, and collections, maintaining a strong focus on accuracy and efficiency.

  • Payroll Processing: Handle all payroll duties, ensuring that payroll is processed accurately and in compliance with applicable laws.

  • Financial Statements: Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow reports.

  • CPA Firm Collaboration: Partner with the company’s external CPA firm to ensure tax compliance, audits, and accurate financial reporting.

  • QuickBooks Management: Use QuickBooks for all financial functions, ensuring the system is up-to-date and accurate.

  • Bank Reconciliation: Reconcile bank statements and ensure the company’s financial records align with actual transactions.

  • General Ledger Maintenance: Keep the general ledger current by accurately recording journal entries and ensuring all financial data is properly accounted for.

    Requirements

Proven experience as a Bookkeeper or in a similar role, with expertise in full-cycle accounting.

QuickBooks proficiency is required.

  • Solid experience with payroll processing and familiarity with payroll software.

  • Ability to prepare financial statements and manage both AP and AR functions.

  • Detail-oriented and highly organized, with the ability to prioritize tasks efficiently.

  • Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively with various stakeholders, including an external CPA firm.

  • Associate’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field is preferred.

  • Experience working with CPA firms or auditors is a plus.
