Essential Duties and Responsibilities The Sewing Technician II willperform intermediate sewing techniques in an industrial environment for mesh bags, filters, and various materials for flex troughs, blankets, and pads, and independently constructing intricate and complicated parts with large variations and dimensions. Shift: Monday - Thursday, 5:00 am - 3:30 pm Essential Functions/Responsibilities Work independently and with minimal instruction and guidance, to perform basic to intermediate level sewing for intricate and complex products. Reference drawings and instructions to sew and assemble parts, safely operating an industrial sewing machine to produce materials according to specifications and standard operating procedures: Placing spools of thread on spindles of machines, and threading through machine guides, tensions, and needle eyes. Precisely positioning materials to be joined under presser foot and needle, using a pedal or knee lever to start, stop and control the sewing machine speed. Guiding materials using fingers and hands, properly aligning edge line(s) and seams, and using guides and markings. Regularly perform quality inspections and complete corresponding documentation in a timely manner. Routinely clean and maintain assigned workspace and equipment. Qualifications Education/Experience A minimum of one (1) year of sewing experience in an industrial setting including the construction of intricate and complicated parts with large variations and dimensions. Exceptional prioritization, time management and organization skills. Ability to adjust quickly and appropriately to changing demands and needs in a high-paced environment. Technical Skills. Ability to safely and effectively use an industrial sewing machine or ability to learn. Ability to read, comprehend, and apply basic to complex technical sewing instructions. Ability to accurately use a measuring tape, straight edge ruler, and scissors, to measure and cut materials per order specifications. Basic math skills and ability to accurately use a calculator. Training Requirements. Ability to receive and react appropriately to coaching and guidance, apply learnings, and seek additional input and feedback to validate proficiency in intermediate industrial sewing techniques.
