About the Role
This position will be responsible for the outbound shipments. They will have a complete understanding of the paperwork required for all outbound loads. Liaison with the customers as needed to ensure timely scheduling of customer shipping requirements. The Shipping Coordinator is responsible for the scheduling as well as coordination of all outbound shipments adhering to plant standards and upholding the Magna Employee’s Charter.
Your Responsibilities
In charge of the outbound supply chain of an JIS production plant
Liaison with Production scheduling to ensure timely shipping of products
Complete understanding of the paperwork required for all outbound shipments
Liaison with the customers as needed to ensure timely scheduling of customer shipping requirements
Coordinate staging process with forklift personnel for JIS and batch shipments
Primary contact for customers shipping activities
Ensure FIFO is being performed
Create daily ship schedules and monitoring/modifying daily ship schedules in accordance with customer demand
Coordinating shipping schedule using customer portals as well as communication with carriers
Ensure shipping documentation is prepared in accordance with Magna procedures
Sending and monitoring ASN’s according to customer requirements
Maintaining customer routings, monitoring and reporting carrier performance issues
Responsible for record retention of BOL and customer documentation
Monitor and interact with customer shipping portals
Who we are looking for
Your preferred qualifications
Logistics/Supply Chain Diploma/Degree preferred or 3+ years’ experience working with Suppliers/Inventory Control/ Customer Service or combination of education and experience
Ability to work in a team as well as performing tasks alone
Automotive experience highly desired
Ability to multi-task/prioritize and work with little supervision
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Excellent mathematical skills, good computer skills and attention to detail
Experience with SAP R/3 as well as Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Excel, Power Point, Word) preferred
