Fortive Corporation Senior Materials Manager Global Supply Chain in Spartanburg, South Carolina

We at Anderson-Negele are seeking a talented, Global Materials Manager to work in a fast-paced, multi-site manufacturing environment. This leader must have a history of winning in a high mix, low volume, and complex manufacturing environment. This position requires an innovative individual with the aptitude and willingness to take calculated risks, communicate w/ excellence, and the ability to work with a diverse group of associates in cross-functional teams. This is a high visibility opportunity with advancement opportunities in operations and/or supply chain management throughout Fortive.

This is an onsite role.

Responsibilities:

• Hire, develop, and retain top talent. Build an extraordinary Supply Chain team.

• Provide cross-functional materials and sourcing expertise and leadership across manufacturing, sales, and engineering teams.

• Responsible for day-to-day materials to support operations including driving/implementing materials process improvements to support business goals with emphasis on inventory management and continuity of supply to support manufacturing.

• Responsible for inventory management including the understanding the product life cycles and ensuring the levels stay at a predetermined limit so that customers orders can be fulfilled on-time. In addition, control inventory levels to protect working capital.

• Supervise/Coach operational buyer/planners on maintaining relationships with vendors and ensure proper negotiation with suppliers to drive favorable PPV (Purchase Price Variance)

• Develop a structure that supports needed capacity, capabilities, and competitiveness.

• Oversea and direct all aspects of supply chain, with an emphasis on materials execution, that deliver to OMX while ensuring QDCI objectives are achieved.

• Ensure use of best practices and tools across the business in achieving performance expectations.

• Stay current on new processes, techniques, and supplier capabilities using Fortive Business System (FBS) tools while ensuring leverage across operating units.

• Identify and implement key changes to the global supply chain that result in operations improvement.

• Develop/Replicate sourcing strategies and plans in collaboration with other Fortive operating companies to best leverage spend and supplier value.

• Conduct market analysis to assess environmental conditions to determine a “buy best” approach evaluating value beyond price (e.g. Innovation, Growth, Life-Cycle Costs, Working Capital, and Capex) while ensuring material continuity and minimizing supply risk management objectives.

• Identify, select, and develop a high-performance supply base that supports the operating objectives.

• Enforce corporation policies regarding the ethical conduct of purchasing activities.

• Conduct business reviews with key suppliers to discuss performance, development, and growth opportunities.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree with 15+ years of experience, Master’s degree with 10+ years of experience; experience includes 10+ years managing people.

• Must have 5+ Years of Inventory Experience, in addition to leading operational buying/planning teams.

• Experience must include 7+ years lean experience in a global operation.

• High Mix & Low Volume Experience in a Build-to-Order Manufacturing Environment is required.

• Operational turnaround experience will be highly valued.

• Kanban experience will be highly valued.

• Engage in front-end business activities related to supplier relationships as well as taking ownership of back-end supply chain operations where the work happens.

• Handle complex supply chain challenges with a strategic mindset and lead like a “war-time” leader during operational crises.

• Have the ability to turn around failing processes to achieve desired outcomes.

• Exhibit determination and courage in overcoming obstacles displaying resilience and problem-solving skills.

• Allocate time between strategic planning and hands-on execution.

• Building strong, effective, and diverse organizations.

• Create followership through collaboration.

• Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.

• Experience with microelectronics components strongly desired.

This position is also eligible for bonus and equity as part of the total compensation package.

The salary range for this position is $131,400-$244,200 . Base pay offered may vary depending on various factors, including, but not limited to: job-related knowledge; skills; experience; and other eligibility factors such as geographic location. The Total Rewards package includes competitive base pay and an opportunity to enroll in a variety of benefit programs, generally including health insurance, flexible spending accounts, health savings accounts, retirement savings plans, life and disability insurance programs, and several programs that provide for both paid and unpaid time away from work.
