Location Description The Post Consumer Brands plant in Sparks, Nevada celebrated 30 years of cereal manufacturing in 2021. Home to about 180 team members, the plant is part of our West Coast network and supplies a variety of private label cereal to our retail customers. Just outside of Reno, Nevada, Sparks has no shortage of fun and engaging activities, including rodeos, festivals, and outdoor recreation. The Sparks team also supports the local Food Bank of Northern Nevada. Responsibilities JOB FUNCTION: Maximize Asset Capability, Availability and Reliability to insure the process meets Sales and Operation Plan. Determine high risk threats to meeting this goal and develop plans to address them. Support, implement, and maintain food safety practices as required through SQF. Will be responsible for completing job duties in a manner that supports all plant safety, food safety, quality, and environmental practices. JOB ACTIVITIES/DUTIES: 1. Demonstrate and ensure safe work practices. 2. Utilize available resources to determine high risk, re-occurring, and problematic assets and processes. Analyze these areas of concern and develop creative solutions for them. 3. Use Lean/Six Sigma tools and methodologies to perform root cause failure analysis and improve reliability of assets. 4. Work with Process Engineer to resolve equipment application and process procedure concerns. 5. Work with Planner/Scheduler to devise and manage a preventive and predictive maintenance program for assigned areas. 6. Understand the scope of all existing backlog and PM work orders relating to their area of responsibility. 7. Work with Planner/Scheduler, Maintenance Team Supervisor, and Line Manager to efficiently utilize personnel resources. 8. Meet daily with each Technician assigned to his/her area of responsibility to discuss existing work requests. Share information on equipment problems or opportunities and seek input on solutions to these and other Maintenance related issues. 9. Work with Operations Managers, Maintenance Technicians and Team Members to execute all maintenance and training for assigned areas. 10. Work with Team Members to streamline changeover procedures, and assist them in operating equipment to minimize breakdowns and maximize uptime. 11. Perform repairs and assist in equipment upgrades as time constraints allow. 12. Use the CMMS efficiently to manage work orders and data compilation tasks. 13. Implement capital projects to improve asset reliability. 14. Work with Project Managers and Process Engineers on equipment purchases and installations to insure reliability is designed into the systems. 15. Other duties as assigned. Qualifications JOB REQUIREMENTS:  · Education: Post-secondary degree preferred. Prefer five or more years of engineering or maintenance experience in a food processing plant environment.  · Experience: Demonstrated initiative for assuming projects outside of core job responsibilities. Demonstrated leadership and problem solving skills. Previous participation in MOM Excellence improvement initiatives is a plus.  · Skills: Able to achieve results while simultaneously executing multiple projects. Comprehensive understanding of CMMS programs, specifically hexagon, and the ability to utilize its functionality. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Able to work effectively in a team-based environment with multiple functional groups. Proven history of strong customer service and conflict resolution skills. · Additional Requirements: Must be able to read, write, and communicate in the English language; Must wear company-issued uniforms and required PPE (bump-cap, hair net, beard net, safety glasses, ear plugs, gloves, steel-toed shoes, etc.); Regular attendance; Flexibility to work overtime and/or on alternate shifts if needed; Must follow established safety procedures; Ability to work 8 to 12 hour shifts in which standing, kneeling, climbing and walking are 100% of on-the-job time; Ability to work in the following conditions: hot and/or humid environments, heights up to 30ft, working on ladders, confined spaces, and catwalks.
