Job Description:
The Facilities Manager is responsible for maintaining compliance with local, state, and federal regulations related to health, safety, and environmental standards. This position will assist in conducting regular inspections, audits, and maintenance tasks to ensure that the facility operates safely and efficiently. The Facilities Manager will manage the team, resources, and systems required to maintain and improve the companys physical assets.
Tasks and Responsibilities:
- Assist in monitoring and maintaining compliance with OSHA, EPA, fire codes, and other relevant regulations and standards.
- Manage relationships with external vendors and contractors, including negotiating contracts and monitoring performance.
- Conduct regular inspections of facilities, equipment, and systems to identify potential safety and compliance issues.
- Maintain accurate records of inspections, audits, maintenance activities, and safety drills. Ensure all documentation is up to date and accessible.
- Assist in checking and maintaining critical safety equipment, such as fire alarms, sprinkler systems, emergency lighting, and exit signs.
- Support the response to safety incidents or emergencies by following established protocols. Assist in conducting root cause analysis and recommending corrective actions.
- Assist with routine preventive maintenance tasks and inspections to ensure equipment and facilities are functioning correctly and safely.
- Work closely with maintenance staff, contractors, and other departments to coordinate repairs, upgrades, and compliance related projects.
Stay informed about changes in compliance regulations and industry standards. Assist in updating compliance policies and procedures accordingly
Required Knowledge Skills and Abilities:
- 1+ years of facilities management experience
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Some college education preferred
- Basic knowledge of facility systems (HVAC, electrical, plumbing, etc.) and compliance standards (OSHA, EPA, NFPA). Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook.
- Strong attention to detail, good organizational skills, effective communication skills, ability to work both independently and as part of a team, and a proactive approach to problem solving.
- 2 years of experience in facilities management, maintenance, safety, compliance, or a related field.
