Note: This position will follow our hybrid work model, we expect the selected candidate to be in the office a minimum of 8 days per month at one of the following locations: St. Petersburg, FL; Memphis, TN; Southfield, MI; or Denver, CO.

Job Summary:

As part of our HR, Payroll, and Advisor Compensation Technology team, the Senior Workday Business Systems Analyst will act as a partner with the business groups and IT partners to facilitate and implement technology solutions. This role will support a highly visible and global Workday implementation.

This individual will be responsible for writing business process and system requirements that will ensure the technology solution will meet the needs of the business. Requires a high-level understanding of systems, industry and end-user requirements. This is a primary role that helps to collaborate between business and application developers on a complex system, handle data research and analysis request from business on issues and work with IT Partners to help drive and get them to successful conclusion. Requires very good understanding of systems and their interactions, financial services industry and end-user requirements. Is able to make judgements and recommendations based on the analysis and interpretation of data.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • This role is responsible for supporting and configuring changes in Workday, advanced reporting, analytics, business process, integrations, and security configuration.

  • Meets with internal business users to identify, analyze, refine and document business requirements.

  • Responsible for creating and maintaining business requirement documents.

  • Provides business analysis support for business and functional applications, including analyzing and documenting business processes and translating user requirements to software development teams.

  • Reviews operational procedures and methods, maps current business processes, defines and analyzes business activities, identifies best practices, and recommends improvements.

  • Work in collaboration with SQM resources to identify requirements for testing, develop test plans, work with users to develop test scripts and coordinate test transmissions, as required.

  • Executes functional system integration testing as needed.

  • Coordinates and supports user acceptance testing as well as functional production deployment activities.

  • Work in collaboration with technical IT resources to develop estimates and implementation plans for technical solutions to business needs within approved project budgets.

  • Work in collaboration with project manager to develop and maintain project schedules, and produce project reports and documentation.

Qualifications

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Knowledge of:

  • Advanced knowledge issue tracking, change management and requirements gathering.

  • Solid understanding of SDLC and work through various phases of it with Peers and IT Partners.

  • Knowledge in Waterfall, Agile and Hybrid software development methodologies.

  • Workday Studio Integration is preferred.

Skill in:

  • Business analysis, issues analysis, requirement gathering/documentation, design/implement solutions in Workday HCM.

  • Experience with gathering business requirements from ground up is required.

  • Experience in working with various stake holders of IT and Business Operations at senior level is required.

  • Must be very organized and detail-oriented with very strong written & orally communication skills.

Ability to:

  • Ability to assume ownership and responsibility, act as a key liaison between application development and business operations is required.

  • Ability to understand in-depth details of business processes, rules. Document and communicate them effectively to various technical and non-technical partners.

  • Identify and understand issues, problems and opportunities; compare data from different sources to draw conclusions.

  • Effective Communication: Clearly convey information and ideas through a variety of media to individuals or groups in a manner that engages the audience and helps them understand and retain the message.

  • Use effective approaches for choosing a course of action or developing appropriate solutions; recommend or take action that is consistent with available facts, constraints and probable consequences.

  • Demonstrate a strong knowledge in position-related areas; remains current with developments and trends in areas of expertise.

  • Work in a team environment or project room to facilitate collaboration.

  • Occasionally work a non-standard shift including nights and/or weekends and/or have on-call responsibilities.

Education/Previous Experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, MIS or related degree and three (3) to five (5) years of related experience or combination of education, training and experience.

  • More than five (5) years of experience as a Technical Analyst would be preferred.

  • Must have at least three (3) or more years of experience with Workday HCM modules, preferably with two or more of the following: Core HR, Payroll, Recruiting, Talent Management, Learning, Compensation or Benefits.

  • Global Workday experience is preferred.

  • Financial Services and/or enterprise level experience is highly preferred.
