This position will follow our hybrid work model; we expect the selected candidate to work 3-days a week at one of our corporate home offices, which are located in St. Petersburg, FL, Memphis, TN and Southfield, MI.

Job Summary

Under general supervision, Associate uses extensive knowledge and skill gained through experience and education to conduct research and provide the analysis required to make recommendations and develop business cases for process improvements that will meet regulatory needs, increase department efficiencies and/or impact department productivity. Responsible for leading projects with variable scope and complexity. They must be able to manage relationships throughout the various departments in Operations. This will be a constantly evolving process as business needs and new initiatives warrant.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Serves as a liaison/representative between the team and/or department and regulatory agencies as well as an industry expert with regards to regulations

  • Maintains a thorough understanding of new regulations and assess its impact utilizing internal and external resources as appropriate

  • Reviews regulatory rules that affect the department and create documents by functional desk that correspond to procedures that would be impacted by the specific regulations

  • Establishes objectives and develops processes and procedures to ensure efficient and timely workflow

  • Consults with users to identify, analyze, refine and document business requirements

  • Prepares and deliver written and oral presentations to project stakeholders related to projects/updates

  • Maintains regular contact with internal customers to identify, research and resolve issues

  • Actively collaborates with various appropriate regulatory working groups (SIFMA)

  • Identifies trending information and report those changes/concerns/topics related to trends to the appropriate team(s)

  • Participates in documentation review of procedures by reviewing for gaps/risks and make recommendations to team(s) to ensure gaps are covered and risk minimized

  • Creates process maps of departmental processes and system workflow to help explain the flow and educate associates

  • Participates in Users Acceptance Testing (UAT) and make recommendations at decision points

  • Works on special projects as assigned

Qualifications

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Knowledge of

  • Concepts, principals and technical requirements of all systems used in the functional area

  • Principles of banking, finance and securities industry operations

  • Investment concepts, practices and procedures used in the securities industry

Skill in

  • Representing stakeholders on project teams

  • Problem solving with variable, sometimes complex, cross-functional systems and processes

  • Preparing reports, summaries and other written communications

  • Preparing and delivering written and oral presentations

  • Using required software applications

Ability to

  • Attend to detail while maintaining big picture orientation

  • Balance conflicting resource and priority demands

  • Partner with other functional areas to accomplish objectives

  • Incorporate needs, wants and goals from different business unit perspectives into operational processes

Educational/Previous Experience Requirements

Education/Previous Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field or an equivalent combination of education and work experience

  • Will typically have a minimum of six to eight (6-8) years of relevant experience in financial services

  • Project work and business analysis/process improvement within financial services industry highly preferred

  • OR

  • Any equivalent combination of education, experience and/or training approved by Human Resources

Licenses/Certifications

  • SIE required provided that an exemption or grandfathering cannot be applied.

  • Series 99 or equivalent required or ability to obtain within 120 days. Other licensing as required.
