Paramount Newsroom Business Administrator in Southfield, Michigan
CBS News Detroit, CBS owned and operated in the #14 television market in Detroit, is searching for a phenomenal Newsroom Business Administrative Assistant who will be responsible for the administrative support and business/financial functions primarily for the News Dept. This person is a successful multi-tasker with broad business experience, excellent communication, customer service, computer (specifically Excel), and organizational skills!
Responsibilities:
To work with the News Department by assisting with administrative duties which contributes to the overall News product
Assist News Management with planning news-related events
Assist all News Managers with staff scheduling
Lodging and travel arrangements for talent, photojournalists, producers, and managers
Culture building initiatives planning and implementation
Provide administrative support primarily to News staff and other departments as needed
Office responsibilities including, but not limited to filing, mail distribution within News, office supplies management, printer toner and paper maintenance
Purchasing and invoice processing for News and Technical Operations
Telephone coverage in News including fielding viewer calls and emails
Fielding and executing video licensing requests
Greet and escort guests to meetings and interviews
Monthly/Quarterly/Annual Music Cue Sheets
Create Purchase orders for News Dept. & other dept. when needed
Assist with vendor setup for all new vendors
Duopoly Station liaison with GBS [AP], when needed
Expense report assistance for News staff
Various other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
Excellent communication and organizational skills
Highly computer literate, including MS Office/Word/Excel
Excellent phone skills and professional manner
Experience working with Oracle and Wide Orbit is a plus
Proven interpersonal skills are required
Must be detail-oriented
Multitask and stay calm under pressure
Ability to work autonomously and work together as a team
Preferred Education Level:
Bachelors Degree with a Major in Business/Accounting preferred
Equivalent experience will be considered
Prior experience as an Administrative Assistant is preferred
