Eaton Corporation Lead Commercial Analyst in Southfield, Michigan

Eaton’s Vehicle division is currently seeking a Lead Commercial Analyst to join our team. This position is based at our Galesburg, Michigan or Southfield, Michigan facility.

Position Overview:

This role will support Division Controller for Vehicle Group, North America in preparing timely and effective analysis and financial reporting for the VG NA Finance Team. The incumbent will provide:

  • Analysis of commercial operations, including price/volume analysis, consolidated local profit, mix impacts, etc.

  • Global product line reporting by customer and product line to the manufacturing profit level

  • Support for the sales month end actuals and forecast process (e.g., units, amounts, delta-price, mix, rebates, journal entries, etc.)

In this role, you will:

  • Lead partner to OEM Sales Group in long-term agreement analysis and ad-hoc queries / analysis. Other responsibilities on an as-needed basis include reviewing various aspects of customer relationships (e.g., rebates, material recovery, logistics, credits and accounts receivable, among others). Time-sensitive responses and building effective working relationships within Finance and cross-functionally are critical success factors for this role.

  • Prepare analysis by product and by customer on a monthly basis to the manufacturing profit level.

  • Key contributor to the VGNA’s annual Profit Plan process.

  • Interfaces with Supply Chain group to analyze surcharges, determine recovery, and communicate to OEM sales/customer.

  • Works with OEM teams to give plants timely information for forecast, profit plan and strategic plan. Involved in Quarterly SOX analysis for rebate accounts including explanations to senior management and external auditors as needed.

  • Participate in BPI and continuous improvement teams as necessary. Identify financial/operational improvements. Establish and maintain an environment of cooperation, standardization, and sharing across the region.

  • Analysis of commercial activities on a monthly basis for management, including mix and price analysis.

  • Meets all monthly, quarterly, and yearly reporting deadlines. Effectively communicates results to ensure timely and effective decision-making.

  • Market/Share Analysis - Split analysis on pricing/surcharges/rebates

  • Detailed PMI analysis as business strategy changes are put into place.

  • Special projects as assigned.

Qualifications

Required (Basic) Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business and/or Finance from accredited institution

  • Minimum three (3) years’ experience in accounting and/or finance

  • Must be authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship now or in the future

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Proficient in Microsoft applications (Excel & Powerpoint)

  • Proficient with Oracle and ENCORE reporting systems

  • CPA or CMA

  • Master’s degree

Position Success Criteria:

  • Thorough knowledge and understanding of accounting principles and concepts

  • Ability to prepare, analyze, and interpret financial analyses/reports

  • Broad general product and business knowledge in order to adequately interpret operating results

Eaton provides a competitive total rewards package commensurate with applicable skills, knowledge, and experience and consistent with internal and external market practices. The annual salary range for this role is $84,720 - $116,490 a year.
