Durr Systems, Inc. Application Engineer (Job Code: 1013) in Southfield, Michigan
Responsible for the design and estimation of process equipment, including PT ED, Booths, Ovens, Work Decks and enclosures; work from customer specifications, including developing equipment layouts and process equipment schematics; develop technical documentation for inclusion in sales proposals; liaise with customers, suppliers and subcontractors along with other Durr departments; analyze customer technical specifications; coordinate in-house estimating activities including relevant drawings and specifications; coordinate major subcontractors including conveyors, paint application, and paint mix; coordinate intercompany activities with offices in Germany and Mexico; develop layouts with layout engineer; utilize Visio, AutoCAD, mass balancing, fluid flow equations, heat transfer techniques, psychrometric charts reading, Datapaq charts reading, and paint processing to perform duties; develop Visio schematics for paint process equipment; develop Purchased Equipment lists; investigate alternate sources for equipment and subcontractors; develop detailed estimate spreadsheets for projects, management cost analysis and customer bid forms; develop technical specifications and clarifications for bids; develop project and job schedules; coordinate job handover; support job implementation by attending planning meetings and design reviews; and conduct technical presentations, and provide clarification to customers and other departments.
Location: Southfield, MI and various unanticipated locations throughout the US;
Salary: $94,139 per year;
Education: Bachelor's Degree in Chemical Engineering, Electronic Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronic Engineering, or in a related field of study (will accept equivalent foreign degree);
Experience: Two (2) years in the position above, as an Estimator, as a Paint Line Coordinator, as a Project Engineer, or in a related occupation;
