MicroStation OpenRoads Designer or Design Engineer - S. Hackensack, NJ Office

Are you a dynamic, goal-oriented Microstation OpenRoads Designer who wants to help grow a Team and Department? Due to consistent growth, Boswell Engineering is hiring a MicroStation OpenRoads Designer for our Highway Division, which is responsible for all aspects of road design from concept through construction. As we expand our services in State and Federal Transportation Agencies, we are seeking a highly motivated individual to assist in developing this expansion and Team which is based at our South Hackensack, NJ office.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Utilize MicroStation and MicroStation OpenRoads to create detailed technical drawings, plans, and schematics for NJDOT, NJTA, and other agencies

• Create and maintain MicroStation drafting standards and polices which align with State and Federal Transportation Agencies as well as other agencies which require the use of MicroStation

• Work closely with engineers and other professionals to understand project requirements and translate design concepts into technical drawings

• Collaborate effectively with team members to ensure accurate and timely delivery of drawings

• Update and revise existing drawings based on feedback, changes in design, or project requirements

• Review and verify the accuracy and completeness of drawings, ensuring all dimensions, annotations, and symbols are in conformance agency standards

• Organize and manage drawings efficiently, following established document control procedures

• Produce specifications and drawings that are centered on written instructions, calculations and equations provided by engineers and designers

  QUALIFICATIONS:

• A minimum of a High School Diploma is required with five (5) years MicroStation OpenRoads (Bentley) design related to civil engineering (An Engineering degree or Certification with 5+ years of roads/ highway experience is preferred)

• Proficiency in MicroStation and MicroStation OpenRoads (Bentley) with the proven ability to decipher construction plans (Bentley Accreditation is a big plus!)

• Knowledge of CAD Standards for State and Federal Transportation Agencies (i.e. NJDOT, NJTA)

• Familiarity with AEC (Architecture, Engineering & Construction) terminology

• Extremely organized with an eye for detail and accuracy, ensuring that all technical drawings meet the required standards and regulations
