Summary: As a Deck Hand, you will be responsible for assisting with general farm operations including, but not limited to the planting, maintenance and harvest of the company's clam and oyster beds. Will be responsible for assisting Dredge Boat Operator with all aspects of boat operations at high tide. Will assist with various projects as needed. Key Responsibilities: Be a role model in projecting and applying The Pacific Group Diamond Philosophy (Productivity, Quality, Excellence and Teamwork) and promote teamwork at all times. Be responsible for the condition of the dredge boat that the boat is left in operating condition for the following day. Work directly with the boat operator to ensure that the work gets done safely and efficiently. Perform basic preventative maintenance tasks with the boat operator such as engine room checks, cleaning, oil changes, painting the boat, and other mechanical work during haulouts. Perform tasks on the shellfish beds as directed. Demonstrate a working knowledge of clam and oyster husbandry practices through the year and understand the beds, their locations, and what is needed to maintain them. Take small crews in a skiff out to the bed to perform longline planting, oyster: harvests, and other tasks directed by the farm manager. Operate various farm equipment, including pallet jacks, forklifts, and farm boats. Demonstrate the ability to work safely and effectively in inclement weather and adverse conditions typically found on the tide beds and boats. Complete paperwork logs and maintains records as required. Maintain farm safety at all times; comply with company health and safety guidelines. Provide backup support for other duties as needed. Assist with farm organization and clean-up as directed. Perform other duties, as assigned. What You Bring to Pacific Seafood: Required A minimum of six months of related experience in construction, manufacturing, farming, or related industry is required. Prior boat operator experience is required. Preferred A valid driver's license is preferred. Boat operator's licenses are preferred. Salary Range:$18.00 Total Compensation: At Pacific Seafood, your base wage is only a portion of your overall compensation package.
