Actalent Structural Detailer in South Bend, Indiana
Description:
The Detailer is responsible for taking customer drawings, convert to simple drawings using AutoCAD 2D, then create plans to manufacture product and deliver to the customer. They are looking to add 2 detailers to the team before the end of the year and the team is currently at a total just over 25 team members. They are growing due to the amount of workload they have for their facility. The structure of the teams involves Team Leads who run a team of 4-6 detailers which typically includes a "checker" as well who helps to check the work of the detailers for accuracy. The team lead also checks work and helps with training/development.
In this role, they will spend about 50% of their time using AutoCAD 2D creating detail drawings, while other 50% is coordination internally and with customers to assist with any problem solving and project delivery. On a day-to-day basis, this individual will be working on 5-6 projects at different stages of completion. They do use a propriety add-in within AutoCAD 2D which will be taught to each individual.
Additional Skills & Qualifications:
• Work experience- flexible on what this looks like but they are wanting someone who has some professionalism and will show up on time and ready to work
•Some software experience- can be AutoCAD, Solidworks, etc. (flexibility for right person- need to understand real world application of design)
•Strong Mathematics and Analytical Skills
•Strong Verbal & Written Communication Skills

Tangible “Preferred” Qualifications:
•Any experience with Steel, Joists and/or Decking design or any experience with structural designs at all
• Experience of a nature of design to production- this would involve CAD drawings then producing material lists or production orders for fabrication/construction
•Tekla 3D Experience (big plus as they will be adding this in the near future)
