Job Title: Sheet Metal Fabricator

Job Description

The sheet metal fabricator will operate various machinery within the sheet metal fabrication department. While the equipment is not highly advanced, the position offers training opportunities for individuals with prior sheet metal exposure. The fabricator will be responsible for setting up machines, determining start/stop points, and ensuring parts meet specifications.

Responsibilities

  • Operating various machines in the fabrication department, including presses, shears, and punch presses

  • Measuring accurately using a tape measurer

  • Lifting 25-50 pounds consistently

  • Using quality instruments to ensure fabricated sheet metal meets standards

Essential Skills

  • Experience operating presses or shears

  • Previous experience working with sheet metal

  • Ability to accurately use a tape measurer

  • Ability to lift 25-50 pounds consistently

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Knowledge of fabrication, blueprint reading, and sheet metal fabrication

  • Experience with duct work, notcher, saw operator, micrometer, and caliper

Work Environment

The work environment is a manufacturing facility operating four 10-hour shifts, primarily working 40-48 hours per week. Hours are from 5 AM to 3:30 PM. Steel toe boots are required for safety.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of South Bend, Indiana.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $18.00
