Acelero Learning Assistant Center Director in South Amboy, New Jersey

Job Summary:

The Assistant Center Director is responsible for utilizing management, monitoring, and instructional strategies to ensure both compliance and excellence among teaching staff. This position will serve as the operational lead for the center, providing guidance and support to his/her team to ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal licensing and standard regulations.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Serves as an operational lead for the Center and Extended Day by providing ongoing support and direction.

  • Ensures all staff and center functions are fully compliant with policies/procedures, including but not limited to effective practices in health and safety and compliance with Head Start Performance Standards, local and state licensing regulations, and overall center functioning.

  • Works with teachers to implement program curriculum with fidelity and the child assessment system reliably, including understanding child outcomes data and using them to plan and individualize.

  • Provides teachers with ongoing coaching and support for quality improvement in all aspects of their role and professional growth through regular observation and formal and informal feedback.

  • Manages the full implementation of all aspects of our Acelero Learning methodology and system of recordkeeping, reporting, and ongoing monitoring and data entry.

  • Facilitates collaboration and coordination within the education team and across service areas and initiatives, including ensuring full parent involvement in the program.

  • Participates in assigned meetings, events, and training as required.

Supervision:

  • Supervises assigned department personnel. Includes the following responsibilities, but are not limited to: hiring, training, scheduling, evaluating, and ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and the completion of all work performed by direct reports.

  • Educates direct reports on all department and company policies and procedures.

  • Meets with assigned staff regularly to identify and resolve problems, manage projects, track goals, and review work processes and procedures.

  • Represents team and/or department at meetings, events, and training as required.

Job Requirements:

  • An Associate’s degree in a related field is required; a Bachelor's degree is preferred.

  • Early Childhood Certification or credits are a plus.

  • A minimum of 1 year of managerial/supervisory experience is required.

  • Experience working in a preschool program is preferred.

  • Bilingual English/Spanish preferred.

  • Knowledge of the health and safety licensing requirements for schools and/or childcare centers.

  • Ability to multi-task, work independently, efficiently organize, and communicate effectively with off-site supervisors.

  • Proficient ability to interact effectively with people from diverse backgrounds, both verbally and in writing.

  • Proficient in Google Suite, spreadsheets, data management, email, word processing, and internet navigation.

Pre Hire Requirements:

  • Two Valid IDs, Two Reference Letters, Physical exams and TB Tests, Fingerprint Screening (CHRI), and Background Checks (CARI) are required for this position.

  • Must have a Valid Driver’s License and reliable transportation

  • Please note: All new hires must attend the four days (Tuesday - Friday) of mandatory New Employee Orientation Training at South Amboy Center - 310 Augusta Street, South Amboy, NJ 08879
