Were hiring a Commercial Underwriter to join our Credit Team. Please note, this position will be hybrid and can work out of any of our regional offices.

Responsibilities

 

Partnering with relationship managers and credit officers in underwriting credit opportunities. Ensure commercial loans are underwritten within the principles of sound banking practices and established policy guidelines.

Solid understanding of all credit products, credit policies and procedures, as well as the ability to underwrite more complex credits in terms of structure, pricing and negotiation.

Stay abreast of the risk tolerance status for the various loan types and keeps the lending and credit teams informed of any changes that might impact their marketing and loan negotiations.

Mentoring of less experienced analysts to promote solid skills within the credit department.

Assist in the credit aspects of all regulatory exams, internal loan audits and external loan audits, as necessary.

Perform additional duties as required.

Qualifications

 

Bachelor's degree required but an advanced degree in Finance, Accounting or a related discipline is recommended.

Minimum four (4) years of related commercial credit analysis experience, demonstrated understanding of commercial lending, both C&I and CRE.

Experience understanding and underwriting, structuring, covenanting, risk-rating and basic loan documentation. Formal credit training in a regional bank or regulatory environment with extensive knowledge of commercial credit and bank operations is strongly preferred.

Strong organizational, analytical and communications skills required.
