Job Overview:
To provide housekeeping/cleaning service that will support the highest possible level of cleanliness; provide exceptional service to internal and external customers; maintain an orderly and attractive environment throughout the facility in accordance to RWJ standards.
Qualifications:
Required:
Speak and understand English
Ability to walk or stand for prolonged periods
Requires bending, stooping, reaching up, and lifting up to 50 lbs.
Exposure to chemicals on a constant basis requires special clothing or safety equipment.
Preferred:
- One to two years as housekeeping or service worker
Essential Functions:
Demonstrates knowledge of department policies and procedures
Demonstrates knowledge & efficient use of cleaning techniques, solutions, equipment and tools
Performs related services, such as bed moves, changing mattresses, changing curtains, stocking supplies, event setups etc.
Maintains high standards; work steadily at efficient pace; achieves high QA score
Interacts hospitably, cheerfully, and supportively with staff, patients, visitors and work colleagues
Maintains equipment, tools and storage areas, orderly and in good operating condition
Respond rapidly and thoroughly to emergencies, special-needs, spills, etc.
Accepts suggestions and directions from supervisors and hospital staff
Honors department's attendance, break, behavior, dress and safety codes
Exercise good judgment while working around patients and visitors
Remains Professional at all times
Takes initiative in rendering service or responding to needs
Assist other associates as necessary. Respond to directions as provided
Scheduling Requirements:
Shift working, 11:00pm 7:00am required to work every weekend & every other holiday (Saturday & Sunday)
Days to work vary
Per Diem
