JOB REQUIREMENTS: POSITION SCOPE AND PURPOSE: This position will lead one or more of the following depending on assignment; manage mold/tool quoting, fabrication, and revisions of customers' programs/projects needs from initial concept to successful completion of the program/project launch through sustained life of production. The Tooling Engineer role is to communicate how the mold is to be designed and its functional requirements to the mold/tool suppliers and internal teams for all mold/tool related activities to ensure part specifications and project timelines are meet keeping project within budget. KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES/ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Quality: Exceed customer expectations as related to part, product and or assy's. Safety: Develop molding equipment that abide by company safety policies. Service: Meeting the needs of external and internal customers related to the program and the manufacturing team's needs for success. Leadership: Providing direction and guidance to the team assigned in order to meet program expectations. Strong written and verbal communication skills required. Cost: Manage molds in a manner that meets customer contracts and our internal profitability expectations. Escalation of program challenges as necessary. Prepare and provide status reviews to program manager. Continuous improvement: Manage molds with knowledge gained from previous molds and other SME's to continually drive greater results. Culture: Support a team culture where all participating employees feel engaged, involved, supported, and challenged to exceed expectations. OTHER POSITION DUTIES: Calculate cost(s) for quoting all molding needs. Helps grow existing accounts by fostering professional working relationships. Create and manage mold/tool timelines reporting status to program manager weekly. Engage in design and development of parts and manufacturing processes from conceptual stages through production. Collaborate with program manager who is responsible for overall program/project deliverables. Work with manufacturing engineers who are responsible for part removal and work cell layouts to ensure mold/tool and peripheral equipment interface properly. Interface with quality engineers to identify product specific information through the development screening process to further define the quality plan and successful long term product quality. Team with sample engineers and identify criteria for successful completion of the following: oOversee IQ (Instillation Qualifications) run oOversee OQ (Operation Qualifications) run oOversee PQ (Production Qualifications) runs. Maintain engineering and production files with proper paper work and documentation through the IQMS PPAP module. Knowledge of MS Office Suite including Project Management required. Other duties as assigned. ***** OTHER EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS: QUALIFICATIONS: Injection molding experience preferred. Contract manufacturing experience preferred. ISO 9001, 13485 working knowledge required. Experience with tooling, injection molding process, automation and secondary processes from concept to implementation is desired. Solid Modeling knowledge preferred. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Strong team player. Computer proficiency. Ability to travel as needed to support business needs. Ability to read, write and communicate in English.
