DESCRIPTION OF WORK The Laurel Hill Complex boasts the largest sewer and water infrastructure within the State Park system. As the Wastewater Treatment Plant Chief Operator, you will be responsible for performing skilled, technical tasks essential for its operation and maintenance. Duties you will be responsible for include, but are not limited to: Maintaining wastewater treatment, sludge processing, disposal equipment, and collection and conveyance systems

Making process control decisions regarding plant operation Developing standard operating procedures to be used by others Observing variations in operating conditions and analyzing meters, gauges, and test results Collecting water samples and performing chemical tests Inspecting and repairing plant equipment Recording data on plant operations, equipment maintenance, personnel attendance, and meter and gauge readings

Work Schedule and Additional Information: Full-time employment Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, with a 30-minute lunch. Days of the week will vary at 37.5 hours per week. QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Experience and Training Requirements: One year of experience as a Wastewater Treatment Plant Operator (commonwealth title);or One year of experience in the operation and maintenance of a wastewater treatment plant. Special Requirements: This position requires possession of a valid certification issued by the Pennsylvania State Board for Certification of Water and Wastewater System Operators as a wastewater treatment plant operator that is equal to or greater than the classification and subclassification of the wastewater system to be operated or maintained (Class C, Subclasses 1 and 3). This position requires possession of an active Pennsylvania non-commercial Class C driver's license or equivalent. This position requires possession of an active pesticide application certification issued by the Pennsylvania Department of Agriculture for category 24, Swimming Pools.
