Job Description

How You Will Contribute:

  • Perform basic chemical procedures, such as preparing and handling buffers and simple solutions following lab protocols.

  • Coordinate the cleaning, sterilization, and organization of laboratory glassware to maintain a clean and orderly workspace.

  • Manage and maintain an inventory of lab supplies, reagents, and consumables to ensure availability for the team.

  • Order and restock consumables as needed to avoid interruptions in lab operations.

  • Keep the lab clean, organized, and prepared for inspections, following established cleanliness and safety protocols.

  • Provide general support to the testing teams in Analytical Quality Control (AQC) and QC Microbiology.

Internship Development Opportunities

  • Technical Skill Development: Opportunity to expand chemical handling knowledge and gain hands-on experience with lab procedures and equipment, supporting a path to more advanced lab roles.

  • Quality Control Training: Exposure to AQC and QC Micro functions, building foundational knowledge in quality control that could lead to roles in testing or analysis.

  • Inventory and Operations Management: Develop skills in lab inventory management, supply coordination, and operational logistics, which are valuable for roles in lab management or operational coordination.

  • Career Advancement: Potential for advancement into roles such as Laboratory Technician, QC Technician, or QC Analyst based on performance and interest.

  • Safety and Compliance: Training in lab safety protocols and compliance, offering skills that can support roles in compliance and regulatory fields within laboratory environments.

Job Requirements:

  • This is a fully onsite position located in Covington, GA

  • Currently pursuing an Associate's or Bachelor's degree in a scientific field preferred.

  • Basic knowledge of laboratory techniques and procedures, with experience in chemical handling a plus.

  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

  • Ability to maintain accurate records and follow protocols and safety guidelines.

  • Familiarity with lab equipment and an understanding of lab hygiene and safety standards.

  • Effective communication and teamwork skills to support lab staff in a collaborative environment.

Internship Eligibility

  • Must be authorized to work in the U.S. on a permanent basis without requiring sponsorship

  • Must be currently enrolled in a degree program graduating December 2025 or later

  • The internship program is 10-12 weeks depending on the two start dates (June 2nd- August 22nd) or (June 16th - August 29th)

  • The intern must be able to commit to one of these time frames

  • Able to work full time 40 hours a week during internship dates

  • Takeda does not provide a housing stipend or relocation support for the U.S Summer Internship Program

U.S. Hourly Wage Range:

$21.00 - $46.00

The estimated hourly range reflects an anticipated range for this position. The actual hourly wage offered will depend on the candidate’s school year/level to be entered following completion of internship. The actual hourly wage offered will be in accordance with state or local minimum wage requirements for the job location.

U.S. internship benefits vary by location and may include:

  • Paid sick time
