UGC LAND LTD CO Equipment Operator/Farmworker (temporary) in SNOWVILLE, Utah

Temporary Need: 03/03/25 - 10/20/25. Four (4) full time, seasonal, temporary Equipment Operators/Farmworkers. Work will be performed in Snowville, Utah and in Holbrook, Malad, Idaho. Applicants must have 1 month experience with the operation of agricultural equipment/tractors related to applicable crops and pivot irrigation and provide the contact information of at least one reference who can verify experience and performance. Hours: 48/week, Mon-Sat. 7:30 am - 4:30 pm. Duties: Worker will be required to perform a variety of duties related to the production of alfalfa, oats, barley and wheat. The majority of the work activities during the overall contract period, however, will be related to agricultural equipment operation. General Farm Work will include the following responsibilities: maintain, drive, attach, and operate farm implements/tractors/equipment to till soil, plant, cultivate, fertilize, and harvest crops; make minor mechanical adjustments and repairs on farm machinery; may mix and/or spray chemicals (according to appropriate restrictive use laws, when/if applicable); remove undesirable and excess growth from crops or farm grounds; remove rocks from field; paint/repair/maintain farm structures; maintain/repair fencing; perform general cleanup of farm areas; drive, load/unload farm trucks and Ag exempt, non-CDL semi/10-wheel trucks; transport crops to market; operate vehicle, motor bike, or all-terrain vehicle in the course of performing duties; workers possessing the proper licensure may be asked to transport other farm workers. Pivots: operate, maintain and repair system; change drive tires on pivots; replace motors and gearboxes on pivots as needed. Other Irrigation Duties: remove pipes/pivot parts from storage and reinstall; lubricate, adjust, repair, and replace parts such as sprinkler heads and u joints using hand tools; observe revolving sprinklers and adjust to ensure proper operation and uniform distribution of water; disassemble, service, and store pipes/pivot parts after irrigation season. Job duties may require straight shifts, split shifts and/or shifts spanning two calendar days due to crop demands. Extended hours may be required during peak production periods. Work hours may vary and there may be periods when little or no work will be available due to weather, time of year, and the requirements of the cropping program. Terms and Conditions: All tools, supplies, and equipment required to perform the duties assigned will be provided at no charge to the worker. The worker will be required to return worn out tools, supplies, and equipment before new ones will be provided. Most duties are performed out of doors and entail exposure to heat, cold, dust, rain, and other environmental conditions common in fields, including mosquitoes during certain seasons. The worker must crouch, bend, and lift and carry items weighing up to 100 lbs in the course of performing required activities. Instruction, training and general supervision wil be provided by the farm operation or a designated employee. However, the worker must perform required duties without close supervision and listen to, understand, and follow simple instructions of the employer or supervisor. Must be able to provide employment eligibility documentation (I9 verification) upon hire. The employer will provide, at no cost to the worker, Workers' Compensation coverage or private insurance which is equal to Workers' Compensation laws for comparable employment. Inbound transportation and subsistence costs from the place the worker has come to work, whether in the US or abroad, to the place of employment will be paid to the worker upon completion of 50% of the work contract period. Receipts showing transportation charges will be required. Outbound transportation and subsistence will be provided/paid by the employer where the worker completes the work contract period, or is terminated without cause, and no subsequent H-2A employment is available. T ra sportation costs will be based on the most economical common carrier or other transportation which conforms to Interstate Commerce Commission (ICC) regulations. Travel and subsistence costs will cover those incurred by the worker while in travel from/to the place from which the worker came to work for the employer, disregarding intervening employment. Subsistence costs will be paid at the rate of $15.88 per each 24-hour period of time that the worker is in travel status. A workers entitlement to reimbursement for reasonable subsistence costs in excess of $15.88 per day shall be limited to actual expenses not exceeding $59.00 per day, based on receipts. The worker must produce receipts from commercial food establishments showing the amount spent for any food and non-alcoholic beverages, including tax. When required, transportation between the employer-provided housing and the work site will be provided by the employer at no cost to the worker. The offered wage equals or exceeds the highest of the prevailing wage (AWER) that is issued and determined by DOL for the time period the work is performed (whichever is the highest rate). This job is in connection with a future H-2A Foreign Labor Certification application.
